Went back to work yesterday after 11 days off following my arm injury.
It was bizarre the way many people were treating me, mostly cops and administrators.
I was irked by this. Today, a female teacher said she overheard the cops playing the card that, "Mr. _______ always instigates the students." I was shocked, "What?" They are insane, all jealous of the big white guy with the full head of hair?
I was very bothered, then upon leaving for the day, I ran into the Union Building Rep and I voiced my concern about the rumor
and the treatment.
"I know why they are acting like that," he said.
"Why?"
"To cover their asses." Then he said as he was questioning people and checking records that something was fishy.
He said the nurse said to call 911 after she got to the room. The security guard said, "They were already called."
Well, 25 minutes later, I was asking, "Where the hell is the ambulance?" (I mean, the hospital was only 1 1/2 miles away.)
The nurse said to call 911 again to see where the ambulance was. The operator at 911 said that no-one had called them.
Holy crap, over a half hour sitting there, after at least 5 minutes of blood spurting out of an artery, and no ambulance was called.
Damn, thank God I knew what to do. Otherwise I most likely would have bled to death. Amazing.
Here's the clincher: The rep checked the School Police log-book. In it was written that the 911 call was made at 10:10AM. Well, after much questioning, it became apparent that the student hadn't even been brought to the accommodation room by then, so there was no way a call could have been made before the fact. Somebody doctored the docket. Now I know, their greatest fear is realized.
Fucking worthless scags! Totally fucking worthless.
Like I said, thank God I:
1) recognized the blood as arterial right away,
2) applied heavy and constant pressure to stop the bleeding (the wound bled for 2 days, even after the stitches)
3) treated myself for shock, and (after the bleeding slowed),
4) elevated the wound above my heart, while trying to stay calm, as I waited over a half hour for the ambulance.
I am very lucky and was definately in someone's hands.
I am not a practicing religious person, but I will be going to church this Sunday for at least a moment of silence.
I need my family close to me now.
This is very disturbing.
