Standing EZ-Curls

Purpose of Exercise: To develop the biceps. If you are strict it also places stress on your abs.

Execution of Exercise: Hold an EZ, Straight or Olympic bar at arms length. Bend your knees slightly and tilt your pelvis forward and keep you glutes tight, in this strict position curl the bar up focusing on using the strength of your biceps, pause briefly at the top and squeeze your biceps hard, lower the bar to the starting position and repeat.

Important Points: Do not move the bar up and down in a jerky or uncontrolled manner. It is very easy as witnessed in the animated gifs below to rock your body. The author was using a light weight for him of 25kgs but was endeavoring to complete each rep as strict as possible, but despite the effort a rocking is clearly visible. To counteract this we now get a training partner to place their hands on our back during this exercise so that we cannot rock or lean back. This exercise can also be done with dumbbells.
