Swollen feet and ankles

I?ve never really suffered from cankles but Tuesday we arrived in Brazil and now my feet and ankles have become one. There is no a/c except for the rental vehicle and it?s hot AF. I started taking a diuretic to rid myself of excess water.
The food here does contain have more salt but I?m not eating as much and drinking a ton of water.
Could the heat/change of environment cause this? Anyone else have something similar happen?

Similar but a tad more strict with the ?good stuff?.
I did buy some hydrochlorothiazide and day two had me pissing all night. The swelling has gone down some though.
