has failed... good news for american auto makers

first the 2.3 million vehicle recall for gas petals.... now the anti lock brake systems on the prius models.....seems like you could get the basic elements correct... gas & brake

I have the AP app on my iphone

First push notification says "toyota warns prius owners to stop driving cars immediately"

about 15 minutes later i get another push notification "toyota wants to clarify it was not a misprint - they insist that you remove your prius's from the road immediately"

This is pretty big, theres just about 40k worth of prius owners as of right now froms some investigation they did

tyoto is being investigated by the transportation department

I think if ford and firestone can bounce back from having tires on vehicles that would tare apart at high speeds and cause people to roll their vehicles I am sure toyota will bounce back just fine. Do any of you all remember that? Ford had tires on the explorer, excursion, f150 and maybe some other models that were made by firestone and they were just ripping to shreds, people did die from this too I am not sure if anyone has died from this toyota insident yet since I dont get much of a chance to watch the new.

well... think about the economy then and now 1... and 2 firestones reputation is still not up to par imo... michelin and toyo are giants now... that really wasnt fords fault...

Toyota didn't do anything voluntarily either. Our government, then many others, followed in restricting all sales. For years Toyota has bypassed recalls by repairing cars on a case by case basis and thus not accepting responsibility. The amazing part is that the American public is unable to access this information. Piss on 'em.
P.S. Japan bailed out Toyota once already.

My last 2 cars have been made by Ford, but before that I owned 2 Toyotas. Those Toyotas were the best built and most reliable cars I have ever owned. Toyota will recover from any recall thrown their way.
