Something that I make every week and snak on throughout the day, between meals...

1.3lbs ground turkey
1 cup brown rice
2 green bell peppers
14oz tomato sauce (plain)

in a saute pan, first sweat about 1/4 of a sweet or vidalia onion and a tablespoon of freshly diced garlic clove, remove from pan
brown the turkey and drain all of the fat/water
I cook my rice seperately in a rice cooker
addd rice into saute pan with turkey meat
add tomato sauce, fresh oregano, basil, ground pepper and onion and garilc
simmer for 15min with stirring

It should be fairly thick when done, not runny. Make sure you adjust the amount of sauce to get a thick consistency. You can reduce the sauce down to get it thicker, but it can get a little bitter if overdone this way

I triple up this recipe every Sunday night and dole out into tupperware for daily servings. each 8oz serving has ~30g protein, 15g carbs, almost no fat or sugar
