She was a beautiful actress, but spoke out against all the basic right-wing conservative values I hold so dear. She doesn't deserve any special recognition outside of her oscar. ;)

No she does not, you are absolutely right. It's the fact that these people have protested countless funerals. Regardless of who you are or what you've done, or even if you disliked this person, or disagreed with their views, people should still have respect. The world today doesn't have any. This country was founded on disagreements, but that's besides the point. These people are protesting out of pure ignorance, and they are twisting Christianity to benefit their cause. It has nothing to do with Elizabeth Taylor. She just happens to be the one in the casket.

they are nut jobs and sooner or later a different nut job or a distraught parent whos son/ daughter has died in the war will lose it and start shooting these nuts. its not a matter of if but when imo.

You may have a point, such overwhelming grief coupled with such lack of any respect or compassion could very well be the right formula for such an event.
