mine would be Frank Zane , Kevin Levrone and Zyzz ...

Zyzz was australian bodybuilder who passed away in August at age 22 only ..im sure u guys have heard of him ...
his got a sick aesthetic body ...and came across as a funny guy ..his story is so inspiring .. it was when i found out about him i just took training to a 300% ...before i can say was 90% he pretty much made me realize what i want to look like and what i want to be ..before that i was like hmm i wanna b huge i wanna b lean and smaller ..no huge no lean ..lol

My boy Will Harris cause the mofo is over 50yo and still doing it. Definitely Dorian though, his workout video Blood and Guts still gets me pumped.

Arnold and Franco inspired me. Most aesthetic physique I think was Bob Paris. For monsters I think Marcus Ruhl is my inspiration although he seems like a train wreck now but for sheer mass and strength the guy is just a truck.

Let me start by saying this , A little history for me and my start -KEVIN KNAPP is ,was and will be my inspiration .Now this guy isnt pro like Ronnie Coleman or the infamous Jay Cutler but Kevin Knapp is my inspiration .Let me explain and please look him up on google if you choose.
Years ago I was short, well wait,,im still short ....
So years ago ,we will say 7 years ago I started lifting in Golds gym and I did the normal noobie shit and took all the muscle tech crap and fell into the Ora of the hype magazines.I bought this and that to help but that bullshit never helped.Everyday I would admire this guy in there ,he was my height but huge and I mean fukn huge and not bloated huge but rather Ripped ,cutt and just impressive as it could get and I wanted to look like him ,just like him .......He rode a harley ,I rode a harley ,he had a shaved head and I have a shaved head. Anyhow enough of that .So one day I decided I would approach him and ask for suggestions .So i did .
I walked up to him and said ," Hey bro....Your fukn huge" you got any suggestions. He looked at me bloodshot eyes and sweat dripping from his head, veins buldging out all over the place.Soft spoken and said to me ......."I will talk to you later"""" .Now I weighed in at about 158lbs that day and when I walked away from him I was indecided on what he meant by he would talk to me later....did I interupt him ? did I piss him off? well I want sure so I finished my non experianced workout and went to the locker room . I had just taken of my shirt and in came Kevin Knapp and sat down beside me and started to talk .I was late for work that day because Kevin took alot of time and explained this game to me , he talked about food intake, supplements , this ,that and everything in between I listend like a giddy school boy as if I had just won the lottery because I had this massive show body builder explaing the Do's and Dont's to me . the last thing Kevin told was "Son you have a excellent frame and you will succeed" those words stuck with me since that day . And let it be known ..I havent seen or spoke to him since that day as he has changed his schedule ,,but I will always remimber that .And so my inspriation is just as I noted Kevin Knapp is my inspriation.

Always been my favorites frank Zane and markus ruhl. Two greats IMO. Ruhl has the best most muscular

BikerTrash! I love stories like that. Kevin sounds like a great guy.

A lot of great bodybuilders, but Arnold and Frank zane were my greatest inspirations. I also thought Segio and Mentzer were incredible...and does anyone remember Robbie Robinson? ;)

Robbie was a beast. One of the more underrated bb'ers of that time

I have to say Arnold and Franco were among the first that I was inspired by. I met Big Lou in person that was pretty cool.

My inspiration isn't really a bodybuilder, but I grew up watching WWF with my grandma and she still gets every PPV to this day(she's 84). Guys like the Ultimate Warrior and Rick Rude had amazing physiques, but I didn't think or know you could have a body like that, not till recently anyway. I would've loved to be a pro wrestler and if I'd only started this lifestyle sooner, I might've had a chance... (and yes, it's too late ;))

Arnold, Yates, Coleman. Yeah yeah I know...I like to go out on a limb. :p

Dorian is my fave but I also like Lee Labrada, he's one of my client's and pretty cool guy. I didn't know he was so short lol..

~R~

Flex Wheeler...imo opinion one of the best eye appealing physiques ever (no homo) lol

Mine isnt a BB'r its a guy (now dead) named Jim Rohn. Leading an Inspired life, one of his many books completely changed my life for the better.

Yeah I have to agree with Platz. He is who inspired me to grow legs instead of twigs.
Thanks for reminding me of the one and only Golden Eagle.

Of course...these aren't the ones that I think are the all time best... but as a young man, I was inspired by Rich Gaspari and Arnold of course. I started lifting in those guys era. Some of the guys you mention look way better, but they weren't around in these times and these were my inspirers when I got started.

Kai Greene is an inspiration, not in the sense that I like his physique because I think he is a little on the large side. (I've always been partial to a Dexter Jackson Type Physique). However his love for the sport is unreal, watching the vids online shows how much he loves the sport and how he puts 100% into it.

gotta find his youtube vid where he gets so into what he's saying he tears up.that dude is a true blue hardcore to the bone bodybuilder.i don't think i've seen anyone sacrifice as much as he has.living in almost squalor,no money, problly a shitty job yet carried that big ass red cooler all over NYC filled with meat and veggies, trains his ass off and is only now starting to reap the rewards of his sacrifice.you can just see the money means shit to him.it's the fact he made it is what he loves.great vid, gotta find it.one of Zhasnis vids.

I alway liked Gary Strydom and Eddie Robinson also.
Great symetry. (spelling?)
