wow fuck the cops

hmmmm...wonder why the cops were there to begin with...dont trust a video...why were the cops called to begin with...especially three...maybe he did something before the video started...I do wonder what the charges are?????....my first guess is public intoxication......but IMO thats bullshit...

J-E-T-S! = J-A-I-L!

A rabid Jets fan ticked off the wrong person -- an off-duty San Diego cop -- by loudly cheering his team's playoff upset Sunday against the Chargers.

In what has become a YouTube sensation, several San Diego officers are seen roughly handcuffing New York native Bill Carroll for allegedly being drunk and resisting police.

Carroll -- who had been shouting "J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets!" near the off-duty officer -- told The Post yesterday, "I wasn't doing anything wrong. I was just watching the game.

"What's wrong with me saying, 'Jets, Jets, Jets?' "

Sandy Huffaker
PENALIZED: Bill Carroll, with girlfriend Brooke Powell, spent 15 hours in jail.
He said he had just three beers over four hours and cops refused to let him take a Breathalyzer test to prove he was sober.

The officers "were just totally out of line, and they wouldn't listen to reason," said Steve Sevigny, a Charger fan who witnessed the arrest.

"The poor guy was just totally busted for nothing."

Carroll, 43, a construction manager from Mission Viejo, Calif., spent 15 hours in jail.

In the YouTube video, which had been viewed more than 180,000 by last night, the former Albany and Long Island resident and his girlfriend, Brooke Powell, are seen wearing Jets gear as they stand in a sea of San Diego fans in the Chargers' stadium.

Carroll chants "J-E-T-S!" and pumps his arms.

About 13 seconds into the video, Carroll is shoved onto the seats by two burly San Diego cops as a Chargers fan yells, "He didn't do anything!" and others boo and protest.

"It was completely awful," said Powell.

Assistant Police Chief Bob Kanaski -- insisting "we don't arrest people for cheering for their teams" -- said Sgt. Jeff Sterling approached Carroll after the off-duty cop sent a text message reporting a drunk causing a disturbance.

Sterling said he asked Carroll three time to "come upstairs" to talk, but he refused and made a fist.

Carroll said Sterling only asked him once and he refused to leave the stands because he didn't want to miss the game and wasn't misbehaving.

"The second I turned around, I got pushed down and attacked by those four officers," he said.

"They took something from me that I don't think ever could be replaced," he said about missing the end of the Jets historic victory.

But Carroll is convinced there are more victories to come. "They're going to the Super Bowl, babe!" he vowed.

this happens every where...public intoxication...only time you take a breathilizer or such is during a dui....my first call was right...... again wondering why 3-4 cops showed up for one person out of all those cheering, came there just for him...he did something more than the video showed... not defending a cop... but that video doesnt show everything...he did something stupid or was really drunk and stupid for all those officers to show up in an entire stadium for one person....

or like the article said another off duty cop called his buddies and every1 else said he did nothing

much respect to the chargers fans...........one guy even was like take down my number ill say he did nothing wrong..........usaully opposing fans are chanting asshole.......i know if that was the meadowlands they would be chanting.......

again you didnt see what happened before the video...something happened for 3 cops to come after 1 person...

or nothing happened like every1 else (witness's) said lol why are you so sure that it did. police do wrong all the time and in crowded areas sometimes they just feel more comfortable using more people for 1 person even if its for nothing

guys i think this vid was editted...if u look at the comments on you tube about it they point out that while he was cheering :JETS!: he was wearing a long sleeve windbreaker and when the cops are man handling him hes all of a sudden wearing a green shirt. It wouldnt suprise me if something like this happened though because most cops think since they have that badge they are "above the law" and can apply it or look over crime whenever they choose...this video does seem a little fake tho. i still say "F" the POPO's...guess we gotta have em tho--someones gotta keep Dunkin' Donuts in business

Last thing the police want to do is to make an arrest in a crowded venue.

Resisting arrest is the worst mistake one can make. Once an arrest is initiated there is little one can do or say to get out of it. And if that individual is not the responsible party, they'll still be be charged for resisting arrest.

The police are allocated a reasonable amount of freedom when it comes to the amount of force their allowed to use during an arrest, and they'll use it, as seen in this video.

Defend yourself in court where it counts, you'll get much better results.

very good post.

Very well could have been an over reaction by the police.

Please think about this though. Many times when approaching a possible drunk in public you alway want to use mulitple officers if possible, why you ask? how many people you know that go to a game or out drinking alone? Usually they are with a whole group of people. Better to have and not need. If the cops were in the wrong, they will pay.
