I don't normally get involved in debates discussing racism but I'm going to say this one thing here....

Black people have been, for as long as I can remember, blaming white people for the slave trade and putting on a guilt trip as if it was as bad as the attempted genocides during WWII. If it wasn't for the slave trade, these rich black people would either be living in squalor or dead. How do I know this? I've been to Africa on several occasions...

Kenya, 1997, 6 week tour with Army, vaccinating local tribespeople who still lived in mud huts.

Since leaving the Army, I've worked offshore in the following countries, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Angola and Egypt. Ok, Egypt is more an Arab nation so doesn't really count but the point is, all the sub-Saharan countries (except South Africa) are where the majority of the slaves were taken from and, believe me, none of these (Jesse Jackson, Chris Rock etc) folks would want to live there, so they should be grateful for what happened.

Grateful that they weren't born into a war ravaged 3rd world country, child mortality through the roof, no state welfare, travelling miles & miles for fresh water, relying on the West for food aid, growing up having absolutely nothing, watching your family members die from AIDS, dysentry, malaria and the thousands of other diseases that kill millions of Africans each year.

Yeah, it was rough but the sacrafice made by their ancestors has put them where they are now.

Without the Africans selling other Africans into slavery, there would of been a very small slave trade. People want to pretend that "Roots" was how slaves were aquired, and for the vast majority that wasn't true. Another thing that a lot of people don't know, is that about 1/4 of the slave traders that brought Black slaves to America were Arabs, NOT Whites.

Did you know that slavery is STILL LEGAL in certain countries in Africa? And some countries just banned it within the last few years? Sad isn't it?

So anyone who knows REAL history knows that many different races were responsible for the slave trade back in the day, not just the "White Devils."

As for the term "African-American" I won't use that word, I don't give a fuck what the PC police say. Why? Because if we divide ourselves into different types of Americans, it totally destroys the idea of true equality as Americans. How about we all be "Americans?" Novel idea huh?

But if we are going to divide ourselves into different "types" of Americans, I want to be called a European American. Caucasian is a blanket term that applies to Europeans, Hebrews, Arabs, Indians/Pakistanis, etc, and isn't really an accurate description IMO.
 
However there is one term I do not mind using which I previously forgot to mention; Native Americans. That I have no problem using. Why? They aren't from India, and the term "Indian" isn't accurate at all. If I don't like the term "Caucasian" because it isn't accurate, then it would be a bit hypocritical to not say the same thing about Native Americans.

Plus it makes shit harder, when you say "Indian" then you have to specify if you are talking about the indigenous people from the Americas or people from India.

I'm glad you posted this, it's about time white people started to grow their testicles back and stopped fannying about trying not to offend people of a different colour or creed. The largest population of African desendents from the slave trade is Brazil, US is second, followed by Columbia, Haiti, Dominican Republic and France in 6th.
What we are hearing these days amounts to fundamentalism, similar to Islamic nut cases calling for a return to the time before the Crusades.
Of all the people on this board, irrespective of colour, race or creed, none of us were either slaves or owned slaves, if any of us are Jewish, we can't hate on random German citizens for the Holocaust. As Scots, however, we can hate the English for all the shit we've endured, whether hundreds of years ago or since oil was discovered in the North Sea during the late '60's and the money from it has been continually plundered ever since. Cunts!

White people grow testicles and stand up for themselves? I seriously doubt it. I hate to say it, but a lot of White people are weak minded pussies that act like they have anything to be ashamed of because of past wrongs that were committed by our ancestors. EVERY culture in EVERY part of the world has done horrible things in the past. Name one group of people that throughout their history have never committed wrongs against another group of people, and I will show you ocean front property in North Dakota. We should acknowledge past wrongs and make sure they do not happen again, but taking blame and feeling responsible for something that happened before we were born is stupid. I can accept responsibility for what I have personally done, but I feel no need to apologize for what makes up my DNA.

When a "hate crime" happens against a White person do you see Whites doing anything (other than those Neo-Nazi knuckleheads who no ones really pays any attention to?) No you don't. But when a Black man gets attacked for the color of his skin the Black community gets riled up (as they should.) That is one thing I have to admire about the Black community, they will stick up for each other when a wrong has been committed against them. That shows strength and the desire to prosper and overcome. Don't get me wrong, a lot of the laws that have ended the legal bigotry in this country were put into place by White politicians, but the Black community wasn't being listed to for a long time and they MADE the politicians give in to their demands. They went from being denied the right to eat in the same restaurants and drink from the same water fountains as Whites, and a few decades later we have a Black president. Without constant perseverance from Black Americans that never would of happened.

No one should be in fear of being attacked because of what their ethnic heritage is, but a large amount of Whites don't seem to give a shit about that, which is really sad, weak minded and pathetic. I have no problem criticizing people of European ethnicity for problems that they themselves have created, and when White people stop acting like gutless cowards I will stop saying so, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Don't get me wrong, I love my fellow crackers :D but I call a spade a spade, even if I am tearing a new asshole to the people who look like me.

Scots as for your comment about the English government I can kind of feel for you on that. The Crown has fucked over the people of Ireland, Scotland and Whales for a long time. But when I see those commie IRA bastards blowing up English civilians I get even more pissed. The English people were not responsible for what their government did a long time ago, and when you go around killing civilians I have zero respect for you.

However being that the UK is not my country, I typically stay out of the politics there, as most people from all four countries of the UK tend to be very great people.

If nothing else all this is showing americans is that there is a wedge between whites and blacks, no doubt miss identified people get aressted and released all over the country, but if its Obama's black boy its a national event.
