Matt, take it easy, bro, the guys are really trying to help you.
Tell you what, how about you writing your weekly diet for us. Then we can see where the weight is coming from and we will help you that way. Many diet programs start with a listing of your weekly calories. Let's start there, and enough of this nonsense, if you are on Govt. assistance there's nothing wrong with that. But let's start with your diet where it is now.
Also, how much weight do you want to lose and how soon?
Personally, when I want to lose weight I start by eating tuna fish 5 or 6 times a day for 3 days and nothing else. Then I gradually add low calorie foods like cottage cheese, salad (no dressing ever) and so on. Another big thing I recommend is to take metamucil capsules (3 or 4) at bedtime. These help your digestive system by increasing fiber.

Matt, you have been given a lot of good advice here....as well as a lot of nonsense. I just went through the thread and deleted all the goofy posts and left the advice posts to make it easier for you. You are always welcome here bro. Please don't let anyone scare you away from posting ;)

While I agree with you, DaDawg, my feel on this matter is.........Regardless, Matt is asking for help and that's what we're here to give. THERE SHOULD BE NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS PERIOD. This isn't a forum for judgements.

Now to the matter at hand, I'm with you Matt. I'm actually bigger than you, bro. How is your cardio workouts? I would suggest devoting 20 minutes (at least) a day for 3-4 days a week doing a good cardio, in addition to your martial arts training. That's what I'm doing and it seems to be kicking bodyfat's ass big time.
 
Matt, follow the menu Irish posted and cut out the protein shakes if you want.. It doesn't matter but if you eat clean like that with no cheating there is no way you won't lose wait at your bf%. You don't need
times for the meals just space them out through out your day. No carbs at night. Mainly just cut calories if you don't feel you need all 8 meals per day eat 6 or 4 for that matter it won't kill you.

You can do 4 meals if the goal is weight loss

breakfast- 4-6 egg whites and oatmeal
snack- turkey and 2 slices of whole grain bread
lunch- chicken breast and brown rice
dinner- can of tuna and steamed broccoli

that is how I would eat if I was your size, I wouldn't worry about loosing muscle mass till I was down to around 15-18%. Just cut the cals. and get ready to feel hungry all day.
 
Matt bro I use shakes during my contest prep you can use them in the mornings and postworkout while cutting this is what i do.

So what are you wanting basically?Do you need a diet and workout routine?Its just eaiser for me to ask then go back and read through this thread..
 
Well I just read some of the thread and someone made you a diet day by day and what to eat.Its ok to have a protein shake in the morning its fast and gets nutrients to your body fast.I have one every morning mixed with milk and natural peanut butter.the diet that is in this thread is a pretty good diet i dont see why you wouldnt use it plus it looks as if the guy put a lot of time into making it.Its hard to make diets for people I do it everyday for someone on these bbing boards.It takes time and effort and the person who made your diet made a good one so why not use it??You say you need a menu well he gave you exactly what you need to eat everyday of the week I mean it doesnt get any better then that bro.

By the way Irish is the one who made the diet I just looked and it is a good diet and very detailed.Also you eat every 2-3 hours he cant give you exact times to eat because he doesnt know what you do all day and in order for him to know he would have to be by your side 24/7.


My advice is use his diet suck it up and drink the protein shake at breakfast like he said and eat every 2-3 hours.

meal 1...50g(protein) shake, with a pack of oatmeal mixed in, fish oil caps.
meal 2....6 egg whites, with one or two whole eggs, two packs of oatmeal..(flavored is best)
meal 3....6oz. chicken breast, a sweet potatoe, fish oil caps...
meal 4....lean turkey sandwitch on whole wheat, with avocado
meal 5...salmon filet, half cup of brown rice, veggies
meal 6....tuna salad
meal 7...cottage cheese and egg whites

MONDAY...
meal 1....protein shake, with oatmeal, fish oil
Meal 2...eggwhites and one whole egg, oatmeal..and maybe a couple pieces of turkey bacon
meal 3...STEAK...(mmm steak), brown rice, salad, fish oil
meal 4...chicken breast, sweet potatoe,
meal 5...salmon, with a half cup of brown rice, veggies
meal 6...one can of tuna mixed with some salad

TUESDAY..
meal 1...protein shake with oatmeal, fish oil
meal 2....eggwhites with whole egg, oatmeal....
meal 3...lean turkey sandwitch with whole wheat, with avocado
meal 4 ..chicken breast and brown rice, fish oil
meal 5...tilapia filet, with brown rice..salad
meal 6...salmon filet, with sweet pot or brown rice, veggies
meal 7...tuna salad...or shake

WEDNESDAY.....
meal 1...protein shake with oatmeal, fish oil
meal 2....eggwhites and cream of wheat omlet.....(thanks for the recipe HM)

Breakfast
6 egg whites with 2 yolks scrambled
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup orange juice

Lunch
Grilled chicken sandwich on whole wheat bread with mustard. Small mixed green salad on the side

Dinner
8 oz. baked chicken breast
1/2 cup of wild rice steamed
2 servings of steamed veggies (brocolli, califlower)

Snack
1 tbsp natural peanut butter and an apple


There Matt, it's in a Breakfast, lunch, dinner form. Is that what you needed?

Glad to help. Matt I once had a lot of wieght to lose, 100 lbs to be exact so I am not just giving you a "diet" to follow this will help you lose weight and feel better. What I give you won't be exactly want I did, because at the time and still I wanted to compete in bodybuilding but it seems to me you just want to lose some weight. If you follow it you WILL lose weight. We will talk soon. :)
