okay so i have this buddy--probably the strongest guy ive ever lifted with and he convinced me to try to rep out 225 for as many times as i can--you know NFL combine style

last week i did it 18 times for 2 sets

this week i did it 19 times for 1 set

i think he said he did it like 14 times--i might be wrong

maybe he will chime in

I got 28 clean reps and 41 when I didn't touch my chest. You guys have some catching up to do. Lol

I'm not into power lifting, but I guess I could prob do it atleast 15 but hopefully 20. I have pretty good muscular endurance

i dont have muscular endurance cuz i train in a pretty low rep range for example if i can do a weight 6 times to be able to do a weight 10 times id have to drop the weight alot to the point where it would just be better to go heavy and if i add 20lbs to a weight i can do 6 times i could do it 4ish times where other people would drop to 1 or 2 its all about how you train i think people who keep their reps much higher in general would be able to do a certain weight more times easier then some1 who is stronger but only trains in a lower rep range

Just like anything, practice makes perfect - its something ya gotta train for. I had a friend in VA who benched 455 for 2 and yet struggled to rep out 225 for only 25. Yet I had another friend there, same gym, who maxed 365 but could knock out 40 with 225. I haven't flat bb benched in 18 years, so I don't have a clue and don't remember the 225 gig. The combine wasn't televised or so popular back then. Concerning high reps, I only remember hitting 315 for 17 on flat bb - natty too! That number sticks out bcoz it was a challenge from some Raida fan friends haha. :D

I seen the video and guys I gota say Shovel is looking pretty good busting a move on the bench...:madflip:

Yeah, I think Shovel came in high on the 225 rep contest at IL didn't he?
I'm not sure how many times I could rep it. My best max is 555 but I don't usually do a lot of reps. My gut instinct is that lactic acid build up would keep me from doing more than 25 or 30, if I cold do that many.
Warming up I do rep it 15 times or so, I have done 20, but stopped so I would not burn out for my real work out.

I am gonna try this on chest day this week and find out. I remember when on tren I got in the high 20s. I bet I cant get to 20 now.

I've always wanted to train for this. I have done the low 30's when I was hitting a cycle real hard and pushing big weight everything felt so light. I just went off one day with my bro, because it felt real light. I figured if I train for it while on a good cycle I can get quite a few more, but I haven't trian for it.

I am on some test right now and 225 doesn't feel that light lately. In the 20's cold now. I need some motivation to train for something like that. It really kills my chest work out.

I've never tried to max out on reps and have always just stopped at 20 reps as a last set.

no self respecting powerlifter can even count to 20 much less do that many reps of any thing :spin:
