I dont see how the American government can keep saying we can win the war on terrorism by fixing things in Iraq??????? Thats my second biggest concern with this flawed idea with my first being why have so many troops had to of been killed in Iraq? I realize some believe we have to start somewhere but I think doing it half way is gonna be worse than doing nothing at all..You either destroy the whole middle east which is what would be needed to destroy ALL the terrorist or make some kind of deal with them and the middle eastern people putting stipulations on things if they do not abide.

I also believe there are NOW more terrorist in Iran and in other middle eastern countries surrounding Iraq. How does training the Iraqi military prevent the the other terrorist from crossing the American border or attacking us. IT DOES NOT!! Its almost like our government is trying to persuade the American public that if we get control of Iraq then it resolves the terrorist threat on American soil and thats just NOT TRUE at all..

If we arent there for the OIL we screwed up bigtime. And if we are there for the OIL we still screwed up because there are much better ways we could have went about getting the OIL.

I think staying in Iraq its only adding fuel to the fire with this terrorist. I do not think they are all flocking to Iraq but are hiding in other countries abiding their time to strike us. If we cut and run it makes the war look like a complete waste as the goverment is well aware and it we set a dead line on leaving it makes us look cowardly and dis-encourages the troops that are over there.

I feel we should have closed off the borders long ago, kicked out all those of a terrorist decent, and took the money thats been spent on the war and purchased some major border patrol.

We catch Saddam.... hand him over to the Iraqi goverment...and the DEMON is still alive and causing deaths for others in Iraq STILL YET! I just dont understand our mission ????? I believe this war may turn out to be one of the biggest screw ups in the history of America. Our goverment needs to get their agenda off of busting STEROID users and such and focus on things that Truly matter.

I voted for Bush because I am not for some of the liberal issues but its been a major dissapointment for me because of sky high gas prices and how the war has been handled and how the Bush administration has been deceptive to cover up for bad decisions. I feel our CONGRESS is full of a bunch of RICH, SPOILED, BRATS and things will never be fair for the american public in general until we get a different breed of people running our country.

As for the terrorism/conflict in the Middle East, there is no easy solution save for bombing the hell out of the entire region as Mr. B satirically suggests above---which is about what one would have to do to end it all. Sadly, the ethnic clashes that go on over there on a daily basis will continue to happen, for there is nothing a perceived liberal, western country can do to solve the problem in a finite manner.

I also applaud your mention of refocusing on the U.S.'s border issues. This needs to be addressed. Unfortunately, it will take another bomb going off with lots of lives lost and the rat-bastards who commit the act being traced back to an illegal border crossing. Only then will we see real action start to take place. It's all a matter of priorities.

Good Rant above---I'm sure a lot of the people here agree. Unfortunately, the answers are not easy ones... at least not easy answers for the gov't.
 
You touched on some touchy and very complex topics. I can't really find any fault in what you say. at this time i can't go too much further since i'm in the middle of a bad migraine. The terrorists seem to be anyone and everyone. They are using guirella tatics that are effective to a point. they're also killing their onw if they're Iraqi. If they're all muslims then they are killing their own kind. Bush has made us look like fools by lying.
 
It's interesting to note that not one single Iraqi had ever committeted a terrorist act against any american, prior the invasion by Geo. W. No Iraqi was ever implicated as being connected to 9/11.
 
We take turns fighting and helping each one of those useless fucking mid east countries for no reason every few yrs. and it seems everyone forgets. I voted against bush because I knew he would go this useless route. This no way to fight terrorizm.. it is just following the political agenda he started and must continue to save face. Our entire government is out of control and the american people have no way of putting the crooked ass system in check. Either way you vote your gunna get fucked with this gang warfair they call polital parties.

However, you all seem to forget that Saddam was paying BOUNTIES to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers who killed Israelis.
Sorry guys, if that's not supporting terrorism, I just don't know what is.
This was also tha guy who launched scud missiles at Israel during the first gulf war, during which the Israelis were doing nothing against Iraq.
Just because somebody hasn't launched an attack personally against US soil, you seem to think we should just leave them alone until they do. Which, come on and accept it, they will if left to their own devices.
I've personally lost family members. They believed in what they were doing, had the support of the "real people" over there, and sacrificed it all for what they believed in. Do I like the fact that we're losing people almost daily, no. But if we just "pull out now", then the message is, America never finishes anything, so we don't have to take them seriously.
Let's get the political parties to shut the hell up and let the troops FINISH SOMETHING FOR A CHANGE! Stop running policy on the "POLL OF THE WEEK" mentality. It just sounds like CNN is telling you everything and you're buying it.

Now that these freakin idiot radicals are starting to bomb places in former 'supportive' countries. The true Muslim people are realizing that this has nothing to do with religion, it's about taking power through fear.

Just take a minute to imagine what would happen to the WORLD ECONOMY if these 'terrorists' got control of a major oil producing nation like Iraq.
Can you say $5 + per gallon of gas. Remember a couple of months ago when it hit $3, it shut stuff down, prices on EVERYTHING went up.
This is what they WANT, they WANT CONTROL of the oil, so they can stick it to us.
You think 911 sent us into a recession, double or triple the price of gas and see what happens.

Just think about it for a minute. You gotta stop them somewhere, by the time they're knocking at the gates, it's too late. We've started the process, let's finish at t least this part of it.
 
there are so many issues about that and we will not know all the issues, ideas, pros/cons, we dont have the intel, nor experience about the war on terrorism....It is hard for us with little knowledge on the subject and info..but I have to say..I am tired of seeing our boys die for that country....given that alone....I would like to see them come home....sick and tired of watching the news and seeing another american die.....

Has anyone thought if the shoes were reversed? If some foriegn country was to take out our presedent and a few congressmen would it change out governmeny?... NO.. Another politition just like the rest would be in office in no time. A party is a party is all I'v seen.

I think the biggest problem is that the American people are not getting the full story - the media is hyping the facts to fit their agenda of the week and the government certainly has been found to be lying about some if not all of the current situation

a good friend of mine who was a 3 tour door gunner in the 1st Air Cav in Nam received an email from his old partner who manned the gun across from him who had talked to his son who is a Marine in Iraq - guess what? All of that shit about putting more armor on the vehicles over there - remember that one? Well they aint so stupid over there - now they just shoot through the windows with their RPG's.
And I wont even go into how they feel about their weapons or the media over there - they are killing the enemy by the 100's according to him but he says you never hear that from the media and he says the imbedded reporters are hated by the troops.

Also guess what? The M-16 and the newer version battle rifle sux over there in the sand and the 223 round is to small - many are requesting the old M-14, M-60 and the .45 pistol - seems the 223 doesnt shoot through cinder block very well which is what the Iraqi's are hiding in. But the good old 7.62 sure as hell does. And autopsies on dead Iraqui's found that 90% of them are hopped up on heroin - so the 9mm doesnt do much but a .45 will always knock down even the most spaced out freak on PCP (a fact the LA SWAT team has known for years)

My favorite comment though was about the return of the .50 cal machine gun - he says it is the one weapon that really makes them stick their peckers in the sand.

And BTW America does have a new hero over there - remember Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock - the Marine sniper who booked 98 confirmed kills in Vietnam? There is a Marine sniper in Iraq who now has over 100 - but we have never heard of him yet - we will after this is over though.



I wish I had the whole email - it is an eye opener.

thats a major bitch of mine . bush picked iraq because of his father and the death threat to him and no one will ever convince me that wasnt the reason , there were mostly saudis involved in 9/11 but we are still kissing their oil rich ass .

I am canadian...we argue about hockey and beer, none of that political propaganda happens here....George Bush is a cowboy and represents the a small but prevelent race of redneck american biggots.....IMO I live in the best country in the world...CANADA...nothing gets bombed here..we dont intrude on other countries...and our beer is 7 % alcohol...need i say more?
