Well I want to go down and TALK with a recruiter at the Air Force for shits and giggles and see where it gets me. Now I know some of you don't like the Air Force, but if I was to choose anything along these lines thats what it would be. It just fits my mentality and what I am looking for more than anything else. I am merely more interested in different options and see where it gets me from there.

I am just looking for different avenues and things along that line for me. I am so undecided in what I want with my life and what I want to do. This is just gonna at least help me say I am trying.

There is a slight problem though:

I won't say exactly what happened, but I was on probation for a bit for some stupid shit I did when I was younger. I was put on S.I.S.(suspended imposition of sentence) since it was a first offense and my age had a part in it too. Basically you are on probation for XXX amount of time. If you make it through that time there is no record of you ever getting in trouble. It is basically just hanging over your head until you finish probation. Well I have been off it some time, but I want to know if any of you know if the recruiter will see that on my record? I don't think he will, but I also don't want to make an ass of myself by going down there and have that shit pop up.

Or should I just be upfront with the recruiter and tell them what happend and it is no longer on there and I made it through what I was supposed to do and I am released off of it.

I dunno, it is off your record, make no mention of it, IMHO

there is nothing wrong with the airforce bro. I almost joined, but decided not to at the last moment. I look back now and wish I would have joined, that was 13 yrs ago.

if its off your record, then it shoudnt be brought up....but this is the government

alright I'll keep ya'll updated and see what happens.

I just want to be able to at least feel in my heart that I am trying my best. I am going to college, but it isn't something I want to do that much. I do a little bit, but I want to be able to see what other options there is.

I found another problem while on the airforces web site. How strict are they on this? This sure as hell won't fly with me. I am 5'8'' so that makes me 68 inches. I weigh 197lbs right now and they say the max is 180. WTF!

my friend went into the military in the last yr, and when you are muscular, they take that into consideration and do a bodyfat test, he was told 18% I believe was the limit, I think you are pretty safe there bro

Ok, because I wasn't even going to go down there if that was the case. LOL. No way in hell I would give up what took me 3-4 years of hard work.

I grew up an Air Force brat. The tallest airman I met was 6'10" 300+. A couple perks to the Air Force are that you can join the PLing team and get paid to go to the gym. Same with all the other varsity sports. I wish my job paid me to work out on company time.
