i just bought a 2004 infiniti g35 coupe dark blue with 77000 km .... i love it shes my baby my child.... anyways i want to take care of her as best as possible im bringing it in to a dealership to get serviced oil change/filter get all the fluids checked undercoating it, i have a couple of nicks i want to get patched up very small but i want to get it fixed so im getting a quote first i might get the factory paint and bring it somewhere else to get touched up but besides that is there anything i should do or get checked out?/?

dude don't bring ur car to the dealer they rip u off find a good mechanic in ur area and use them.

77,000 miles on an engine is about time to replace the timing belt and water pump, check your hoses, and if they change your oil, make sure they put in a new crush gasket for the oil drain plug. They are only good for one use. I had my oil changed in Jan, they didn't replace the crush gasket, the plug fell out along with the oil and it destroyed the engine.
Oh, and by the way, I went to the "local" mechanic. Idiots!
At least the dealer will guarantee their work.
Look for the crush gasket on the receipt.

most local garages should back their work as well if they are a credible garage.

IMO...from my experience with performance cars, and building and owning several show and drag cars...i would research and find a shop that specializes in your particular brand of car. if your building say a 600hp mustang, your best bet would be to find a shop specializing in ford hi-po work and installs. one that you have seen work from and are comfortable working with after you speak to the mechanics. most performance mods are fairly big purchases. find a shop that does mechanical work of that nature AND reputable tuning on aREGULAR basis; one that builds cars as their specialty according to the mods or work you want done. a lot of run of the mill shops may be able to do the simple mechanics and not tune a car properly which can cause BIG problems.

if your looking for just a run of the mill tune up, with a higher end vehicle like infinity, your best bet in that situation may be to go to the dealer simply because some high end car manufacturers require certain brands of oil etc to avoid voiding any remaining warranty. and it may be harder to find a specialist to work on a g35 than say a 66 chevelle.

so depending on what your goals are and what your looking to have done with the car thats my opinion.

thanks i ended up taking it to the infiniti dealership i traveled a lil further away from the city cuz i saw some bad reports on the ones in my city. everything looks good i got it serviced and now i just have to get it detailed :) i love my car its my baby

joe dealing with an infinity bring it to a dealer and no one else....
