Grrrrrrrr talk about BAD TIMING...fuckin' cable went out on the TV yesterday...SB WEEKEND waaaaa! :crying: I got comcast for internet connection too...its fine...only out on the TV. It's only out at my house...I checked with neighbors and theirs works fine. So I call comcast support and they run me thru the unplug the box gig and all...but same shit happens...box reboots and still nothing. Get the blue screen, then an error box saying "Advanced services are unavailable"...then the box goes away and the #98 appears on the cable box..where the channel display is. I askd them about the #98...appears to be an error #, but they dont know. I did a google on it and nothing. FUCK! I have 2 cable boxes...one upstairs too...same thing. So that rules out being a messed up box...odds of both boxes going out same time is like hitting the lotto.lol Comcast tech SAYS the signal seems fine..that the box is receiving the signal. So shit I gotta wait until SB Sunday 2PM before they can come out here to check it out. Any Comcast techs here to share some wisdom??? Thx.

if both boxes are out your right...and you better play the lotto...bc you might be crushing a 22YO virgins pussy with that luck!! muahahaha:moon:

it's an issue with your account. They need to make sure your service is setup correctly and send a hit to the boxes. That should re-initialize them and bring your service back up.

If you unplug the coax from the box and plug it in direct to your TV do you get picture?

You say your are still able to get online? Goto your computer, make sure it is connected directly to the cable modem. in the explorer address type: 192.168.100.1
goto the diagnostic screen that displays the upstream and downstream levels and report back what they are.

If it isn't a service level issue at the headend, it could be a problem with signal level. That is why I need to know the downstream and upstream levels in dB.

Thx bro. Tech came here Sunday, and the problem he found was comcast came out here last week to install service to a neighbors house...they fucked up and disconected MY shit when they installed HIS! And the reason I still had internect connection was they had TWO wires going from the my house to the main box outside. The tech said it should only be one...he said the guys that disconnected my shit was probably confused of why there was 2 lines going to my house instead of one...hence the one they disconnected was for my tv. So basically a big mix-up on their part.

ask them to reimburse your for the lack of service for those days...demand it...maybe they will pro-rate you or give you a free movie..who knows, just bitch them out

Threaten to cancel service all together. If they are anything like time warner, they will give you a huge discount just to keep you ;)

Yes, typically if you call in and tell them you are considering dropping service because of their fuckup they will give you premium channels for free upgrade your HSI etc, etc.
