just wanted to know if anyone here is on any antidepressants, what kind, and how effective they are.. ive been dealing with depressiong for years.. im getting fed up with feeling this way i think its time for some professional help.
 
used to take Effexor XR.
used worked very well.
but, i eliminated the things in my life contributing to my depression... and I weaned myself off
 
i cant explain why im depressed.. i just feel sapped all the time.. if im not a work and buisy i feel down lonely tired and weak... i was thinking about trying st johns wort.. anyone have luck with this

do you have any hobbies? Friends? Does your job make you happy? Is it stimulating your mind?

Idle hands are dangerous... but being depressed, IMO, usually stems from something lacking in your life, or something stressful.

Key is to find out why you are depressed, and change the things that contribute to it.
 
well lets see my girlfriend moved away to get a teaching job ill be following her soon if things go as planned.. rite now im working kind of a shitty job.. i work wensday thursday friday say or thursday friday sat 500 am to 500pm.. and then i have a ton of free time when im not working.. my roomate or friends are never around when i have off cause there at work... alls i do is eat sleep rent movies and go to the gym.. sat nite i go out.. theres not much to do around my small town.. i mite just be lonely.. like today i spent the whole day by myself except for going to the gym.. i just cant take it nemore

im allergic to st johns but i have SAMe and it seems to work fast

ya life sucks for everyone right now because life is fucked.. u wanna antidepress? start drinking.. i think ill be starting that i suddenly totally understand alcoholism
 
one thing i learned about drinkin...is if you never sober up u never have a hangover
 
Before u go to medicine u need to try to figure out why your depressed

medicine wont solve any of the problems, just make u forget about them.

OK Mak, I like you man so here goes brotha. Move to a damn city man!!!! Do it now then when you go out on weekends there will be new hot girls all the time with plenty of clubs to choose from, sounds to me like your just in a funk and need some new ass, always cheers me up to beat some new guts,hahaha (I'm sure the females here will appreciate that one). :uh-huh: But really man if you are clinically depo for some physical reason then anti-D's will help you live life better, st. john's wort aint gonna do shit but waste your money.

doesn't sound you have anything keeping you in that town... so move. I agree with Tbizzle... get out of that town. What areyou waiting for to move near your girlfriend? Money? Family? Your job sux, so that shouldn't stop you.

GYM AND GETTING FUKED UP dont mix..so choose one or the other..

ive been partying hardf as fuk for to long..shit catches up..n if you wanna look the way you wanna look then booze and drugs just wont get you there...n i kno most dont do drugs but just including that in

Thanks bro your rite.. I haven't gotten laid in months.. ive been here alone... my girlfriends sister went thru a very hard divorce soo she went out to north carolina to be with her.. im planning on moving there next year.. till then i just got to get my shit together i guess

ive had problems with both drugs and alcohol.. that throws everything off balance in my life.. I go out once a week sat nite.. I try to stay sober otherwise

same here bro..it really does throw shit off...especially the gym..wake up late and tired, dont get your meals in like you should, cant lift like you should, test levels are low..it just fuks shit up bro..

im trying to stay off of everything for a while..mainly the liq..its just tough here bro..real tough...

shit i dont know how living somewhere where you live can be any easier..if there aint nothing to do i can see how just partying and drinking would be the way to go

our little town is soo fed up.. everyone here is addicted to painkillers... I started drinking when i was like 15.. all there is to do here is party...
 
try to appreciate life for what it is. If you need someone or something to be happy then youll keep needing more and more and be sad when you dont have it. Be happy just to be alive, and to have what you do have, etc.

Sorry to hear that doll. Drinkin never helped me. Let me know is you want to talk.

Anti-D are like any med. Some work for som, some work for others. If your doc thinks you are depressed, ask his recomendation. There are severe sides to some. Also if you are thinking about a cylce while on them forget it. They can cause manic behavior. If you have ADD/ADHD and take retalin/adderall etc, SSRI anti depressants can cause manic episodes.

Youre not whining. It makes you no less of a man to be sad sometimes, lifes hard. But a positive outlook can change a person. Even if youre lying to yourself, pretend to be happy long enough and you get used to the behavior. Do you like to be outside? Go try new things since its summertime. Biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, anything. Go for walks so youll have time to think and take in some scenery. Small towns are very depressing but like you said it can always be so much worse. We are very lucky indeed

I'm in the same boat bro. Always lonely and depressed. This is my 3rd time seeking proffessional help but still doesn't seem to be working. Wish I had a solution for you. One bit of advice I can give you is try to stay busy. If you find a solution lmk. Keep your head up bro.
