I haven't ridden in a month because of ice on the roads, but my daily driver the other 3 seasons of the year is a BMW R100.
Super dependable, great ride position, lot's of power, and so easy to turn I just press my thigh against the tank and out she goes. I also have two classic Honda's, but not the type you would want to ride in the city. One is a 1966 Honda CB450 Super Sport, doing a ground-up restoration. The other is a 1975 Honda CL360 Scrambler. I took 2 years to rebuild that, only to find the low mileage engine I put in it had the classic head gasket leak. I am rebuilding the original six speed engine. I mostly rode Honda's until I had to push the CB450 four miles home one day, then I said, "to hell with it, I want something dependable," AKA the BMW. I totally love it. BMW's have the cam below the crankshaft which gives it a very low center of gravity. All the Honda's I rode had a high center of gravity, making it difficult to turn especially at speed. (Taking specifically of Honda sport bikes, not crotch rocket types).
BMW makes a 1200 cruiser, I'm sure it's sweet. Take a look at the BMW 1200C.
