Since I now see that you have APT as a sponsor

I figured I'd give them a plug. I don't get any kickbacks or anything, just love the straps.

I bought the Ultimate PLUS with padding for my heavy Rack Deads, I also bought the Ultimates with padding and the anti-wear feature for regular days up to 600-700lbs
here's the breakdown
Up to 750lbs - Ultimates
Up to 1000lbs - Motivator or Ultimate Plus
The nice thing about the Ultimates is the fact that the bottom layer is a softer cotton than the Motivator.
I imagine the Motivators are more like the heavy cotton straps you have, except one 2" wide dense cotton with one 1" wide reinforcing strap
The Ultimate is one 2" medium weave cotton (very soft) and a 1-1/2" reinforcing strap.
You can't go wrong with either if you get the padding (makes the difference, well worth the $2 extra)
If you get the Ultimates, get the anti-wear feature if you will use them a lot. My ultimate plus set shows a little wear already, but hell, I've been pulling some stupid weight with them.
The PLUS has a third layer in between the 2" and 1-1/2" layers, but they are not too thick and wrap easily.
If you don't want the initials, the skulls are really cool, or you can go basic. I'd opt for a bright top layer without initials if I were getting a plain set.
I just didn't want mine walking, so I added my initials, and I can sure find them now, if they do.
I am pretty sure the regular Ultimates will handle a hell of a lot more weight than the 750 they say, hell I was pulling 705 with the basic $6 straps (hurt like hell though)
Don't forget the Warrior line if you still prefer the 1.5" strap
AND, if you don't lift silly heavy and want good straps, the Motivator Jr 2" and Super Duty 1.5" are good choices. I got my wife the super duty with padding and she loves them. Just remember, the padding makes these extremely comfortable.
If you have any other questions, give APT a call, Alan will give you the straight advice and help you decide.
All Alans stuff is freakin awesome! Shop the full range and just pick one, you'll be happy.
Let everyone know what set you got and how you like them.

Do I use mine, hell yes I do!

PS: I also got the 4mm neoprene wrist wraps for light duty days (have a bad wrist) and they work great and can actually get tight enough to give good support without binding you like the comp wraps tend to do.

But don't foget the whole line of powerlifting stuff he's got too.
Wrist & knee wraps, PL belts, grippers, chalk, bands, etc...
