when i get back into lifting, when i sleep my arms always fall asleep.

ya know how you can "feel" all of your muscles when they are full? well, i tend to tuck my arm one over my head, and the other under me....somehow and i wake up all uncomfortable and my fingers are numb. this never happens when i am not lifting, like when i was not going to the gym for 10 months. maybe because there is increased blood flow and i'm cutting it off? anyone else experience this?

Thoracic outlet syndrome

Thoracic outlet syndrome

Thoracic outlet syndrome
Thoracic outlet syndrome is a group of disorders that occur when the blood vessels or nerves in the thoracic outlet ? the space between your collarbone and your first rib ? become compressed. This can cause pain in your shoulders and neck and numbness in your fingers.

Common causes of thoracic outlet syndrome include physical trauma from a car accident, repetitive injuries from job- or sports-related activities, certain anatomical defects, such as having an extra rib, and pregnancy. Even a long-ago injury can lead to thoracic outlet syndrome in the present. Sometimes doctors can't determine the cause of thoracic outlet syndrome.

I think that you may be experiencing a bit of carpel tunnel syndrome, or medial nerve impingement at or near the elbow. Both can occur from inflammation or from small repetitive injuries as HR mentioned.

I have the same problem dude, sometimes I wake up and both my arms are asleep, sometimes it gets scrary to the point where my own hand on my face feels like a cold dead mans hand... This started happening randomly and stopped again randomly about 3 months ago.

Happens to me too bro. It's how you sleep. If i have one arm raised over my head it's numb in the morning. It is definitely caused by cutting off bloodflow. As soon as i lower it i feel blood immediately rush into it, and then it gets cold, then warm, then tingley. You're not the only one.

happens to me all of the time when I get my weight up - also bloat does this because it restricts the blood flow from the neck down into the arms - there are some good articles on this happening to lifters - sudden weight gain added muscle mass as well as added neck size all cause it - I think it started for me when I reached 200 pounds and now every time I gain another 10 or so it happens until my body adjusts

good point but from my experience that usually is more of a achy feeling in the joints than going to sleep - either way I use B6 in large doses until it goes away
