Arnie to veto gay marriage bill

Funny how he was for gay rights etc before getting into office and NOW the party dictates policy. I get so tired of politicians. It is the only job that you can lie at and get away with it.
 
I am more annoyed that he is just being a typical politician...lying...not doing what he said he would....
 
its sad......but what i dont understand is: why are so many people against gay marriage, unless they're marrying me, i frankly dont give a shit what they want to do.

well I am not so much against gays, but I am against giving them special rights because they choose to be gay..........

and thats right I said CHOOSE

Thats my feelings too, plus alot of women LIKE gay men or would date them so I figure its less competition. LOL

Gay, black, white, red, yellow, straight, jewish, muslim, etc. I could give two shits less what you are. I view everyone as equals....I don't judge people off things like that as I think those are trivial things.

yeah dont judge people off things like that, well if yo look at it this way....
if they allowed gay marrage they being judged, they are gay and want to get married ok let them but they are still being judged, be cause to allow it it has to be sent through a system of other peoples judgements and approvals
i dont agree with the gay marrage thing. SORRY :yesway:
 
I will never understand why people have such a big issue with it - if 2 people want to be together then they should be allowed to have the same rights as a couple that anyone else has. No one is asking you to accept the fact that they are together... In some states men and women that live together but aren't married have the same rights as married couples - is that right? They are "choosing" to be that way also - not that being gay is a choice... why would people choose to do something that is going to make them hated by many people, become outcasts from many social circles, and in many cases have them abandoned by their families? That is illogical. Enough younger people commit suicide because they can't deal with the fact that they are having homosexual feelings and are afraid to let it be known - that alone should tell you that they aren't "choosing" to do it... why would they choose to die instead of choosing to be straight?
I have a few friends who are gay - a couple actually, and they just got married over the summer in Canada. Being a supportive friend I went to their wedding reception - and you know what? It was just like any other wedding reception.
As far as "choice" - I don't think you can choose if you are gay or straight... buy you can choose how far "over the edge" you go in terms of expressing it. By that I mean the friends that I have you would never know they were gay unless you talked to them about it - contrary to what most closed minded people would expect they work on cars, like action movies, and fit none of the typical stereotypes... on the other hand you get the guys that walk around in pink poofy shirts carrying toy poodles while wearing elton john sunglasses and falling into every stereotype there is - THAT is a choice. Even my gay friends look at that and say "Damn, what a fag!"
Anyway... Sorry to see we have such a closed minded group on here.

Yes, I do. My supervisor at my last job and her partner adopted 3 children from guatamala - and I think that is great. They rescued those children from horrible cicumstances, and they are raising them in a loving household.
 
I just wanted to add that it is ironic to hear people who are fans of bodybuilding being so judgemental - I mean lets face it our sport involves guys sitting in an audience and cheering for oiled up men in speedos walking around on stage in front of us... if that doesn't sound gay to the average person - I don't know what does ;)
 
now this is where i REALLY disagree, you are seeing peoples hard work and dedication other than their body
if it was gay i believe there would be more toe touching poses :flute:

well do you agree God created man? If not I am not even gonna waste my time in this thread. But if you believe God did indeed create man then read this verse from the bible:

Leviticus 20
20:13
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

now tell me now that GOD would make a man born gay, if it is an abomination to him??? I am not going to argue this. It is in black and white.

No one is arguing anything - debating is different than arguing.

No point in discussing it further though if you are going to pull the "God card". I tend to believe science and scientific explanations over religious explanations.

I wasn't saying bodybuilding was a gay sport - I was just saying that I'm surprised people are so quick to bash gay people when the sport could be viewed by some as the perfect sport for gay men. I guess that came across wrong.

But from what I have seen most people who feel it is ok to be gay, are normally non believers.

Like I said nothing against you, just something I have noticed about Non-believers. One thing for certain is, you may not believe in God, but he believes in you.

It is definitely a chemical difference - all thought is simply chemical reactions in the brain. Some people's brains function differently than others. You can't choose to have a chemical imbalance, so your theory would be better than saying someone "chooses" to do it. Homosexual behavior happens in animals too, I don't know if you could say the animals made a concious choice to be gay - it is obviously caused by something in their genetic make up or their brain chemicals.

I do believe in God - I just don't believe in organized religion.

I see what your saying but what do you mean by organized religion? the only problem I have is that the bible states we are to gather together (going to church)

They arent special rights. They are asking for the SAME rights as others. Nothing more or less.

Actually bodybuilding is considered an underground sport at the competitive level with alot of sketchy behavior. Homosexuality is rampant...so are bisexuals.
