I will say it was cool seeing the athletes USE the tv time to ask people to call the Red Cross etc. Warrik Dunn challenged ALL NFL players except the Saints to give $5,000. So really I am seeing the positives.

puffy & jay z tossed in 1 mill
the nfl 1 mill
& the yankees 1 mill....+ alota donations add up very very fast

hopefully more people in the publice eye will toss in more
& serena williams is givin 1,000 or somethin close 2 that 4 every ace on her current tour....its just nice 2 c people reachin out

That's great to see people comming together and helping out. I hope it continues.

btw, can Brett Favre's family go through much more crap?!

No offense but I am tired of hearing about Brett Favre. They talk about him WAY TOO MUCH!! Yes it dies suck about what has happened to him over the years with his family, etc. but there are far more important issues than him....IMO.

I think it is great that everyone rich and famous is contributing to the relief efforts. That's awesome!

There are far more important issues than MOST of the damn press out there, lol.

Sorry he gets too much coverage...not really his fault. He is a hero to most that know him. And there aren't too many good people like him and his family around anymore, JMHO.

I'd rather see him get coverage than the other jerks out there, Koby and the likes...

I guess I'm partial though.

I think Favre is doing actually a nice job of manipulating what the media would like to get ratings from.

how do you mean? he doesn't give them what they want?

I think he does a good job in speaking more from the heart and hitting the real issues without playing to them. He always comes off as very credible and somewhat annoyed that people are always in his private life...acting as if they can FEEL HIS PAIN. I think he has used this current issue really well to push for relief help.

I agree, Future. I've been a big fan of his before anyone knew him...back in say....'93...

As far as Favre goes I feel for him. Sure there are bigger issues out there. I don't think BW meant that Favre is bigger then ANY of this. He just made a remark about him. I mean shit like I really care that Tom Cruise is in love with Katie Holmes or that Brad dumped Jennifer for Angelina or any of the other ridiculous crap out there that people become absorbed in! The point being is that Favre is a real life nice guy. There are VERY few heroes out there anymore and he has overcome great odds. Fact is the guy has gotten a bad hand regardless that he is a pro ball player. All that chaos in his life and then being famous and idolized and having to live up to the image people expect him to retain while his life is falling apart. That is pretty remarkable imo. He has remained humble in a world of ego driven assholes. So I would much rather (as far as sports go) see the media focused on a good person and a real hero to many.
