hey guys, i just wanna let you guys know that its hard for me to type things right now cause of a little mishap on memorial day, so i may not be around as much as usual.

On Monday, me and my girl went up to Red Rock to go climbing and hiking, and just spend some quality time together. So we start climbing, and i suddenly realize that she is afraid of heights (she never told me this, and SHE suggested we go climbing). We got to the top of one rock and she started slipping, so naturally I grabbed her and then started slipping myself. I ended up falling onto my left hand, which is in a cast right now, just immobilize it until the swelling decreases. Then I go to an orthopedic surgeon so that he can get my hand in the proper positions to do the x-rays needed to tell if its broken. My and is killing me right now, but the oxycodone is helping. Since its hard for me to type ant I've just typed this whole thing with one hand, ill still be on but my replies will be short since it takes me forever to type.

sorry to hear that...I am also afraid of heights...scares the shit out of me..but I know better not to go climbing....I would just kill myself anway...I even afraid to climb on a latter....

ill be calling the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow to set up an appointment about an MRI and X-Rays. its still hurting like a bitch and oxycodone is barely taking the edge off. im beginning to think that isnt a good sign. lol

sorry to hear that, the good news is that you did not go over the edge! :) and of course red rock is just a gorgeous place....

i plan on calling the orthopedist tomorrow. i was supposed to go last week but i didnt have the money. now that i got paid on friday i can make the appointment and go. i can move my 4 fingers without too much pain anymore, thats a good sign, but the tip of my thumb is still numb without any discoloration, so i dont think that is too good. ill let you guys know what the story is as soon as i see the doc.

just got out of the orthopedic. my thumb is straight up broken. he believes that i have a torn ligament near the bottom of my hand/wrist, and that one of the small bones may be shattered. my MRI is on monday.

Very nice .............. super job ! ! !

I wish you a quick and speedy recovery.

got the results of my MRI back. there is a 35% tear through a tendon in my wrist, a clean break in my thumb, and my scaphoid bone at the upper wrist/lower hand is shattered into 6 pieces.

doc says it stays immobilized for 6 more weeks, get a new MRI and go from there.

i fucking hate this.

Wow, that sucks. I feel for you. I've got the Junior version of what you're going through, just one tendon got cut. A good doctor fixed it up, and though it hurt like a sob for a while, that's gone down now. I should be out of this contraption in about a month. You'll get through it too, but yours sounds like a helluva thing to endure. Painkillers can be a whole problem in and of themselves, but if you have a strong will, they won't be. Get well.

And remember, chicks dig scars :p
