do bench shirts really work? i am thinking about getting one, and im just wondering what kind of results anyone else had using them? are they legal to use in competition? which kind are the best - and best place to get them? and what is the differece between a bench shirt, and bench siut? is either one better than the other?

How are ya man,yes bench shirts work.you will get many different answers on how much people get from them.some 20lbs,some 200 lbs.yes you read that right.when you've been in the powerlifting game awhile you will end up trying tighter shirts, open backs, double denims, etc.certain shirts are allowed in certain meets.depends who you are planning to compete with.never heard of a bench suit, unless you mean a squat suit.the best will also vary with each person.some love poly, some denim.to start out for your first shirt try a poly.it will be easy to use and you may get 20-30 lbs right off the bat...what the shirt does is hold you tight at the bottom and give you a pop off the chest...if you'll decide to try one there's a few place you can get one and they're all pretty close in price..

hey how are ya man,go with a double poly for your first shirt and get the velcro back added so you can slip in easier,it's worth the money.the poly is easy to use and you will notice an increase right off the bat.it could be anywhere from 20 pounds to 50 pounds.I use denim but they take a while to get use to.You could compete now if YOU feel ready.a 295 at your bodtweight is a good bench by the way.find out what org's are holding meets in your area and compete.I can help you find that info if you can't.bands are a must bro.mini bands for benching and for you the green bands for squatting.here's a site that you can look up any info you want on bandsElite_Fitness_Systems .also anymore questions let me know or email me......PEACE...
