Bitcoin Transactions tracked

Several child porn assholes were recently busted in my area. The FBI had a complete list of all their bitcoin transactions. All the FBI needs is a single email to trace all interactions with that person, both sending and receiving.

Anyone who believes the hype about bitcoin being totally anonymous, safe and secure hasn't been paying attention.
The "Patriot" Act was a very serious setback for the privacy rights of citizens,

Apparently it is no more anonymous that writing a check. We need Protonmail to develop a bitcoin!!

people should have never been foolish enough to think that once crypto-currency became easy to use that it would remain safe. That said, if anyone uses bitcoin, it should be run through a wash, which is not hard to do, and costs about a dollar or so. Once it hits that hash, unless one stands with a sign and his key's, it won't be tracked. Unless you're on some most wanted list that is, and a concerted effort and hundreds of thousands of dollars will be spent to peel back the onion.

I don't think you are looking at it the right way Choke. Government doesnt' have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to peel back the onion. They just swipe a pen and write a law that makes those bitcoin entities do the dirty work for them and for free. Just like requiring banks to report me every time I move more than $10K. It costs Big Brother no time and effort.
