Breaking records is awesome.
I can still remember the day I curled 200 for 6 reps.
Two juice-heads were curling 145 and yelling like crazy (they were only doing 6 reps each).
I looked out from the squat rack where I was doing sets and reps with 425. I was impressed at them thinking, "Damn, those dudes are strong," but I thought the yelling was being pretentious. Then I looked at the weight and said to myself, "145? shit I curled 165 for 6 2 weeks ago."
The one guy slammed the loaded bar on the rack and they walked up to the desk with their elbows almost straight out.
I laughed. For three years they called me "skinny _____."
Really pissed me off.
After they went to the desk to hang with the manager, I walked up to the loaded barbell. I heard the one say, "Hey, look at skinny _____..." They all looked.
I lifted the 145 and blasted out 16 reps, BAM!
I loaded it up to 165 and did 12 reps.
Then I loaded it up to 200 lbs and the gym got quiet.
Damn, blasted 6 reps, awesome!
They never called me skinny _____ after that!
Nice job on the records! I'm tempted to ask if you got her back but it's not my business.
