Where do you bigger guys get your dress clothes I have two wedding this summer and I want or I should say the wife wants me to look nice. We went shopping today and regular clothes aren't tailored to fit a more "athletic" build. I don want to pay for a tailored suit if I don't have to

Ozzy, there is no way in hell you are gonna find anything off the shelf to fit you right. Everything will have to be tailored.

Why dont you go to a mens wearhouse and look at a suit you like. They carry a couple Kenneth Cole suits that are athletic fit and they can tailor it to make it look nice. By athletic fit I mean that it is made with more room in the shoulders and across th back relative to the other measurements, compared with other suits. For you the jacket will start out a 52in + chest and literally have over a foot of material removed at the bottom to taper it in sharply and fit you right. Buy a shirt from them and have them fit that for you as well. Hell as big as you are they might even need to tailor your fricken tie for you.

The only thing you will have to settle for probably is back pockets that are too close together. They will end up taking a pair of like 52 inch waist pants for you and tailoring them down to 34 in the waist or whatever you are. This means they have to rip out and redo the seat and move all the belt loops but you will have room in the legs and it will be awesome.

Otherwise, you are talking about going into a shop and picking out material and getting measured and leaving $2grand + at the front door.

Yes bro...the Tailor for you and for me. I'm one of the only ones in my work that runs around in sweat pants because buying clothes is ridiculous. Used to be able to buy seperates jacket 50" and pants 34" but now pants won't pull over the quads.
Be proud of the house u built and cloth it to flatter what u built.
Else wise just go to the weddings in shorts skip the shirt and wear a bow tie. The brides will be pissed though cause you will steal the show. :)

willi thats the thing, i wear grungy ass work clothes all week long and all i care about is if they catch fire when im welding, and during the week nites and week ends im wearing nike basketball shorts with a tee shirt or jeans and a tee shirt depending on the weather

my wife is actually in the two weddings i am going to and i want to look good for her, the last time i wore anything really nice was my wedding and the tux i had on super nice and expensive and fit like a glove after the tailor was done

i have extra long ties just for this reason---my neck is 20-22 inches depending on the time of year

and what sucks the most is that dress shirts have a neck size too and they dont fit for a fuck either

but dude you know all this and you have to wear suits to so you know were im coming from

i thought about just saying fuck it and running a cutter and hitting the bike hard till june and seeing if i could possibly get to about 200 lbs so its easier for clothes

Ozzy, try the men's warehouse route that Darkness recommends. It will be ok and you will look great and Mrs Oz will be happy.
I wouldn't dump hard earned size to go to a wedding.
Stay your great xxxL self!

The main difference between "Regular" and "Athletic Fit," the chest-to-waist ratio. A regular size 50" jacket has the waist made for size 44", a 6 inch difference, whereas an Athletic Fit size 50" would have an 8 inch difference and be size 42". Even so, most athletic fit jackets aren't made for guys with 17" plus sized arms, so it would be cheaper to go to a Jos A Banks or Mens Warehouse to have to tailored. I bought a jacket at a store, thinking I could get this and that done, it cost over $300 and still didn't fit right. Next time I'll go the full-tailored route.

Big and Tall. I have a hard time getting things that fit. (I'm so short and so wide; yes I beep beep when backing up). They all usually require a little bit of tailoring. My upper body is too big for the normal sizes and my legs are so tight in normal pants I literally split them. I regularly come home with ripped boxers from a days work. It's become a joke between my wife and myself.
So Big and Tall is the only place I can get the dress xlothes I need.

Hahaha - I'd like to see the expression on their faces when they see a human roadblock walk in. Maybe something like this? >

I can't stand dressing up for anything...but last time I had to go out and buy a suit, I went to the Big and Tall store. I didn't have time to get it tailored, but it still looked okay. I wore it once, back in 2009.

Good luck, Oz!

I'm leaving this to the wife. If she wantsme dressed up she can help find clothes. We went shopping Saturday and her words were "the don't make clothes in meat head cut". And we agrees that most trendy stuff is gonna look ridiculous. If I had my way I'd be in my cargo shorts Nike sandals and a nice house of pain shirt LOL

"Meat head cut," ya gotta love it.
Evidently, Neanderthal are not extinct after all!

For me , Its simple I go to Osh Kosh and get the "Husky" boys section clothing line .
Although , I am a small , short , withering away type of fella.
sounds like you got some options above from the Big Fellas....lol

So I was able to get a fitted shirt that fit 18 1/2 by 36/37 it's the biggest hey had and it looks nice and isn't a pup tent but the wife wanted pink shirt and striped pink tie and to all you boys out there that thinks the old man don't have it still 34 inch waist bishes at 242 this morning the pants look a little odd cuz of my quads size but the wifey is happy so Oz is happy
