bro some people just have it that way... i myself had a rough life... where as a few of the people i know have it made in the shade... its just part of it... everything happens to us and gives us different aspects and points of view on life

You'll be hard pressed to find people who, if they've been alive long enough won't fall on bad times, hardships and trial. Same with those on the bottom going through goodtimes(only way less frequently does it go this direction). Pulling yourself up from the dirt is a combination of work(in some form) and luck. I would have to say awareness is a very big factor. When luck/opportunity knocks you have to answer(some people just are smart enough). The bad luck is also an awareness factor- When you see the signs (if you get a warning-often you don't , do you take heed? Or are you too blinded by the good life to believe the horrors possible don't come down on the blessed people such as you? I don't have enough fingers & toes to count the people I've seen crash & burn in my 44 years. Only a fool believes he is immune to misfortune. The books of history are ravaged with ill begotten fate. You take what Bateman said and break it down: He could discover his wife/girlfriend/mate wtf ever is screwing somebody and not at all what he thinks(everybody always says the same shit- MY girl ain't like that. You don't know her. - funny how we all like to believe our mate is more moral than we are). That could be the least of his discoveries that moves his world involving her. He believes he has looks: Well unless he lives in a glass bubble that can change in a blink of an eye. If not looks have a time limit on them. The child: could stick something in an outlet and get fried. Any ONE event could set off a change of circumstance causing the world as he knows to cease to exist. How many people on 911 had that happen? Families of those who died and survivors got their realities forever changed. "Good times don't last. Good people do." at least till they die.

The other day for example, I'm cleaning the bathroom and I drop my razor in the toilet. Since I'm not going to take any responsibility for my own actions, as seems to be the common trend, I walked out into the living area and slapped my lady. She says "what's that for?". I say "Shut up bitch and go fish my razor out the gotdamn toilet!".

It's the attention to detail that matters.
 
I read this thread through and my take is this. mrhtbd is a great guy and feels comfortable here and free to vent among his online friends.

I can also understand loke's take on the numerous and sundry posts as many of them sound just as he describes. But I have read the posts by mrhtbd for a couple of years and know he is a down to earth non-pretentious guy, and has a lot of personal frustrations at home and work for which he gets little support outside the boards. I recently vouched for his entry into a secure forum on another board, as did BigKarch, and I don't do that very often.

BTW, mrhtbd had posted pics in the past, and Karch posted family pics in the mod forum at another board. Posing next to his wife, he looks enormous, probably in the 300 pound range. ;)
