One of my students in a college class I take told me she fired her nutritionist because she found ChatGPT could do a better job. Holy shit....I have a master's degree in nutrition and can do any kind of diet from the bottom up but for me variety and food selections is a real pain in the ass. So I gave ChatGPT a try. If you do this the more specifics you can provide the better it will come out. I include the calories I want, and then enter specifics on the macros, I also specify 3 main meals with mid-morning and mid afternoon supplements. I do get very specific about supplements and timing. After that I exclude all food I will not eat like vegies and dark meat chicken or fish. I just did a 3 week menu for a Greek oriented Mediterranean Diet. At the end you can get a PDF copy of the macros, complete diet and a shopping list. Once you get this done you can tweek and changes you want.

Here is a sample of day 1

Day 1

  • 3 scrambled eggs in olive oil
  • 2 slices whole grain bread with feta & honey
  • 1 banana

  • ½ serving Forzagen + whey + 8 oz milk
  • 5 dried figs
Lunch (900 kcal)

  • 1 slice sourdough bread
  • Grapes
Mid-Afternoon Shake (895 kcal)

  • ½ serving Forzagen + whey + 8 oz milk
  • 1 apple
Dinner (1,050 kcal)

Evening Snack (500 kcal)

I think she should have stuck with the nutritionist in my honest opinion as that person would know more about her training level, general health than AI would. AI is indeed getting better and better and perhaps have her compare this plan with the plan the nutritionist had provided.

I am a nutritionists with a masters degree in nutrition/exercise science. This stuff is great but it is only as good as the information you give it. So you absolutely need to know a lot of information about nutrition. I tried something completely different using all of my age, body weight, BF level, exercise levels, TRT, blood work, etc. I asked Grock to set up a weekly menu doing carb cycling. Hi carbs on Mon, Tuesday and Thursday, medium carbs on Wed, Friday and low carbs on Sat and Sunday. I also listed the grams per pounds on carbs, fat and protein and the percent change with carbs on the medium and low carb days. Fat and Protein stays the same. I also ask to use Italian or Greek foods, white meats only, fish and chicken, plus dairy products. Fruit, no veggies. Amazingly enough it came up with a very good diet plan. It even suggested recipes for meat marinades. Took me longer to type in the information than it did to come up with a great meal plan. I also included the supplements that I use. Dietitians can be very expensive and from the ones I know, the advice youu get will not be this good. I still remember my nutrition professor telling me whey protein was not real food and creatine will cause your kidneys to shutdown. She also pushed the food guide pyramid as gospel. Anyway, I used the shopping list it gave me and I got everything I need to prep a week's worth the food. Tried the Souvlaki Marinade with 2lbs of chicken skewers with brown rice, lemon and feta cheese, also a Greek salad with olive oil and lemon for a salad dressing., crusty Italian bread and fruit. Damn good!

Now I am going to use it for my cat. I was not trained in animal nutrition at all so I recently paid a PhD in Veterinarian Nutrition $650 for a simple 1 day meal plan. I felt like a complete food when I got the 1 day diet. I did learn that cats will eat zucchini and can be supplemented with L-carnitine. The basic concept of this diet is a similar idea to human nutrition so I can go on from here on my own. But I want to see if Grok has better ideas.

DAMN! I just did my cat's diet. I got the exact same information the PHd in cat nutrition charged me $650 for . Some of it is suspiciously word for word. She also wants me to check back in every month at $175 dollars to make any adjustment. I already knew how to make adjustment using my own formula of %calories to BW. But Grok confirmed my figures were exactly what I showed. Cats are not like humans and have a safe weight loss range which I already knew. To little caloric intake and they can die from hepatic lipidosis. L-carnitine will help some. So with the knowledge I already have about nutrition and the help of AI, I feel very comfortable that I no longer need to waste money on an over priced animal nutritionists.
