Refused to pay the rent for February because I'm done with this sewer gas crap. Called the township codes inspector 2 weeks ago and explained the situation, then he asked, "Who'se your landlord?" When I told him he laughed and said, "Oh, he's an old buddy of mine, I'll give him a call!" Then agreed to "call me back in 3 days to see how it went!" Note: My landlord is on the township board. Five days later and no call, so I sent a text to the landlord that I "cancelled the rent check until I receive validation from codes enforcement of legal rental status." F-him! Two days later I was served. He set up a hearing with another buddy local judge, but fuck it, I'll be heading to the county courthouse to file an appeal right after , and I've already contacted the State District Attorney to file a complaint. Fuck it, I'm a Veteran, a state education system retiree and almost a Senior Citizen. I did my research. Small time elbows are not going to get the final rib, especially after me dealing with their toxic shit for 13 months.

I don't know the rental laws in your state. But if they are like mine, you will loose the eviction and any appeal. There's a process to resolve a situation like yours and it invariably involves a court order and escrow.

I'll bet you're phucked. Should have spoke with an atty about this. Being right and being lawful are two very different matters.

In my area it takes a minimum of 30 days to evict after the payment was due. Because of the weather they can't evict in the winter, and utility companies can't shut off electric or gas in the winter months.

I'm moving out of that sh*hole anyway. Just wanted to expose that snide bastard's hypocrisy. After presenting my findings concerning International, PA state and local plumbing codes, hydrogen sulfide, density and disposition of gases, mold remediation and subsequent health issues the female Judge stopped me and asked, "How do you know so much?" I responded, "I worked in construction for 25 years, taught science for 8 years, and read, study and research on a daily basis!" (Doesn't everybody?). I finally said to the Judge, "Look, there's really only one question here, is it legal to rent an apartment that not only fails to satisfy plumbing codes, but negatively affects the health and welfare of the tenants as well?" I found out the shithead has been poisoning tenants with sewer gas for 30 years! Mainly I wanted to expose his fraud. Little effing twink manipulating me with his bullshit. I'll never pass through there again, I owed it to myself to "raze" the issue. As a teenager, my nickname was, the "Master of Destruction!" No more faggy teaching gigs, time for metal! Start a new sheet metal job tomorrow!! Fired up the bike tonight and put in 40 miles. Will commute over an hour each way starting tomorrow. Time to reclaim the self. By the way, after my 4x10 sheet metal job, been fantasizing about picking up some hours as a fry cook!
