Cutting on the Road

Most of my business travel has been a night maybe two away from home. I have probably a full week coming up. Any suggestions for eating on the road while trying to cut?

For an one night trip I just usually pick something decent at a restaurant and forget it. My room will have a refrigerator and microwave but I probably won't have a microwave at lunch. I always take a cooler since I usually drive.

Breakfast and dinner I can probably handle with the microwave. Lunch will be the harder part. Lunch meat, bread, veggies to make a sandwich? Cold canned chicken and some hot sauce to spice it up?

I will probably hit Subway for lunch a couple of times.

You can always have some of the ready to drink shakes in the plastic bottles on hand to.

I do the kitchenette in the room thing and eat most of my eats in the room. Lunch is usually a crap shoot. If I just let it go and not train more than a couple of times light over a week it takes close to a month to snap back. If I do the kitchenette thing and get a few workouts in then I can snap back in 1/2 the time. I traveled from March to mid September at least one week a month and it did screw me up. My weight doesn't change much but my composition and conditioning suffers big time.

I'm going to stay at a place that at least has a little workout room. I have found some that have some Powerblock dumbells and a flat bench. That and some cardio and I will be good if I can fit in a couple of workouts in during the week. I workout Saturday and Sunday when I get home.

LL are you flying or driving? When I drive I just take a cooler with me. In it are tupperware containers with premade things like chicken and rice, precooked fish, etc. Then also some peanut butter, egg white cartons, etc. You can put whatever in there.

Now if you are flying this becomes a big pain in the ass. I have never figiured that one out unless I am there long enough to go to the grocery store and buy some food.

I will be driving and always take a cooler. I just need to steal all the tupperware in the house now.

Rice is a good idea. I need to get some more brown rice. I always keep some cooked, seasoned chicken and hamburger in the freezer ready to go. I have a hard time eating much fish that isn't fried. Maybe some tuna and hot sauce would be good. Probably make a few salads too and throw some chicken on top.

Works out good when on a per diem for government work. :D

I could just do it your way and pop open a can of tuna at 80MPH and suck it right out of the can. :)

Depending on how long I am at one place, the first place I hit is the local Fresh Foods type market and stock my room up with some Foods that fit my current diet regimen, be it cutting so on~ If there isn't a frig, I hit the local quick mart and grap a foam ice chest, hotels always have feed Ice~! Just Saying~! I carry my food on planes in a portable soft carry ice chest, if I am seriously dieting, I don't and won't go with out feeding to stay on track~

Stay Strong~~!!!

Scoped it out and the place I'm thinking of staying has a refrigerator, microwave, workout room, indoor pool, and hot tub.

Will be hitting this place off and on for about a year.
