DO YOU CARE?????

Nobody fucking cares. Well, almost nobody. The support for our troops is at an all time low its embarrassing. Soldiers continuously get the shit end of the stick, and our government and court actually encourage it. It's really fucking sad.
 
imo health care is the worst. I think the admin is to blame not the soldiers. alot of ppl don't support the war, not the soldiers. at least this is most of what i hear.
 
I DO CARE, AND ADMIRE AND RESPECT AND ALWAYS BE THANKFUL AND MY FAMILY IS THANKFUL AND MY KIDS WILL BE ALSO.
 
though nobody i know supports the war, we all support the soldiers, EVERYONE supports the soldiers... hate the warpigs, always support the soldiers.
 
I was just having this discussion with friends the other day. I think if you ask someone they will say the support the troops however for the past couple of months I started noticing in myself that a day would go and I would not even think about it. It really started to hit me on friday and saturday nights when it was time to go out. I would look around at my own friends and others at the bar having a grand ole time while kids my own age were fighting and dying for a war that had no purpose so that the patrons of this bar and I could be out not having a care in the world. It hit me hard because I love the idea of brotherhood and what the military stands for. A while back I brought this topic up with friends before a night out and asked them. Do you guys realize that while we are here going out kids our own age are fighting for us to have this right? I said do you even think about the war or those troops on a daily basis? Everyone ashamedly admitted that they took it for granted. It bothered me that I could say I support the troops but yet a day or a night would go by and I would not even think about it. I decided to take action and still have not got involved as much as I would like. However I now question my friends all the time and random people. I've decided to join groups that help our soldiers whether it be supplies or just someone to talk with. I'm not saying its much but how ironic it was before when if asked I would say I supported the troops yet I was doing nothing to earn my right to go out for that drink.

So if you ask me do we as a Americans care the answer is NO... we care more about the fact that this war is affecting our economy then killing our brave troops. As a sidenote please no one take this offensively at all. I am speaking in general terms from what I observed in my own actions as well as others around me I am sure that there are those who do a lot.

I do care, I thank god every day that there are men and women who are brave enough to defend this country. I've been fortunate enough to be friends with and socialize frequently with 3 marines who served in Iraq close out of high school. They're all loyal, respectful, great friends to me.

Unfortunately, I also am friends with some people who can be assholes at times. I've asked them this same question before going out for a night, and they simply shrug it off like it's no big deal. That or they laugh at me and claim that "people fighting in a desert have nothing to do with us getting drunk in Ohio". That is the attitude of a lot of America. They don't understand how important the men a women of the military are to ALL of us. Like JP said, people are more worried about the economy than the well being of our troops. It's pathetic
