I am an old school hairy beast! To younger people this may seem gross, nasty or whatever, but in my defense, the learned trait of what to shave when or how often came "after" my generation reached the working world. Anyway on Tuesday, after I noticed I had lost a few stitches from the surgical gash on my calf, and to stop the bleeding, I tried to redress the bandage. Problem was my calves were too hairy and nothing would stick. Figured, "Ok, just a little trim around the area for the bandages/tape," so I did that and left the bandage on for 2 days. Removed the dressing today, the bleeding completely stopped, and the cut looked healthy (no redness, irritation or sign of infection) good, but there was a big bald spot on my shin. I've only shaved my legs 3 times; once for a body-building show and twice for swimming competition, thirty years ago. Meanwhile I checked a spot on my chest that has been itching, sure enough, more cancer. Then I thought, "What the hell, when the Dermatologist did a body-check 4 weeks ago she only found one thing I hadn't told her about." I figured she couldn't do an effective check because I'm too hairy and have freckles, making visibility a problem, so I figured, to hell with it. Got out the trimmers and trimmed from my eye sockets straight down to my ankles; whoosh, (the whole line, yes, and there too) then shaved again in the shower with a razor and Barbazol. Skipped my arms for now because the trimmer went dead. I figured, "I want my skin back so it's time for special treatment!" My skin is the largest organ of my body, it's not primping because, as I'd been treated for skin cancer nine years now, I think it's safe to say it's necessary for survival. My question to you guys and/or gals, is: who shaves, and please help me join the 21st century by including what, where, when, how and/or why? I will appreciate your candid answers.
