Just curious as to who gets up early and who doesnt. Are there any pro's or con's between the two? My schedule is eratic and my kids schedules are even worse. :stupido2:

I do my cardio early in the a.m. either before work or before my daughter goes to school on the days I am off.

I train in the evenings usually around 7 or 8 p.m. Depends on if it's a work day or not. I get off at 8 pm when working day shift. When I work nights I have to train a little earlier before I go to work.

How old are your kids?

It really doesn't matter when you train, as long as you do it :)

well I got a fucked up schedule. I got to work at 3:30pm, get off at 2AM, get home about 2:45AM, go to bed and get up at 9:30AM.

I get up eat one meal, then work out at 11:30AM.........so for me it is the AM :)

AM or PM it's definitely a preference call. But I do feel AM cardio(or whatever time you wake up) is the best, hands down.

and WTF is cardio?

I hate you, sorry :D j/k

I agree about the AM cardio. That's why I do mine then :) It's not because I am a morning person, but I have been doing it for so long now, that I cannot sleep in. I am up just as early when I don't do cardio.

if my gym would open earlier than 7 (i have to be at work at 7) i'd do AM cardio before work, but thats not the case :(

Im an evening guy. I have tried working out in the AM but I cant find the energy to lift heavy during that time. I guess I'm just use to working out in the evening.

The two things I can't do effectively in the morning are Squat and DL. My back is way to stiff to even attempt those so I hit them up around 5:30. My bench workouts are around 11:30-12noon.

O and I don't know what cardio is right now either. That's why i'm carrying around a ton of fat

They are 13 and 8, both are girls and they always play a ton of sports. My Ex doesnt help out and so my poor truck gets tons of miles on it every week.

I am trying to find out when the best time for me to workout is. It looks like it may just be whenever I can ?????:stupido2:

totally agree Matt, I could barely squat 135 in the AM lol

My original mentor was personally trained by Bill Pearl - so I do as he was taught. For men, workout in the early AM is more productive because natural test levels are at their highest levels (hence - the morning woody :headbange )

I do my workouts in the AM - mainly because I work 11:30am-8pm - and at night I would much rather get home than head to the gym. I find that if I end up having to do a workout later in the day for whatever reason I don't do as well, just because I have been doing AM workouts for so long.

Cardio first thing in the am and lifting is late morning. I do feel I can lift heavier after a couple of meals.

cause of school i usually workout in the morning and do cardio in the pm. it is impossible to workout at my gym in the pm since its a university rec center, it so packed u cant get a thing done. i cant workout first thing in morning i have to be up an hour before hand.

Doesn't matter to me.

I'm a full time student.. i've a job.. and i've been competing for the last 7 years.

Needless to say, life is hectic.. thus training happens whenever i get the time.

If i have mid-day to evening classes i train at 4a.m.

If i miss that session i train at night.

On weekends, after working long night shifts.. i wake aroudn lunch time.. I train then.

No set time.

The only consistent things would be the intensity generated at each session.

I do shift work so I train whenever i'm not working. However, if I could choose, it'd be in the evening. That's when I have the most energy. :BP:
