:bang:Well I went riding tonight(as usual) with my friends, and we lost someone to a drunk driver:mad:

To make a long story short(I'm sure the paper will print this story tomorrow) we went riding as we normally do. We were leaving Y-Bor(pronounced-eebor)city and we were crusing around 80 or so approacing this bridge. Well what happened next made me feel like I was in a movie. This drunk person lost control of his car becuase he was going to fast, bounced off the rails to hit another car, does a 180 turn(the drunk) and "T" bones another car, this is where it gets sad:(

Me and my friends saw this coming and were able to react fast enough to ride the curve as high as possible and hope it doesn't get in that lane, well we managed to do that, but one person didn't. He(Travis Nathaniel) was not lucky, like we were and was "T" boned with the both cars.

As I drove by accident on the top part of the lane, I saw with my 2 own eyes how hard he hit those cars. no brake no nothing, all speed. We stopped as soon as we could, ran to the scene to find half of his body under the car, we used a jack to pull him out. At that time I saw him moving and groaning a bit, but he was really hurt, really bad.

Then I went to the car who caused the accident, driver was fine, but so drunk that he tripped on his feet when he got out of his car, and a few more times too. I slapped the shit out of him and yelled at him if he knew what he just did, he didn't.

As we were calling the police(and everyone else) the fukcer decided to run, yea, that bitch was trying to run away from us. Me and 2 other guys gave chase after him, my friend tackled him 1st, then followed by me and the other person. We physically brought him back to scene and a few of us stood around him so that he wouldn't run again.

Anyway, the guy had no license(just i.d), no insurance and drunk. Left the scene of an accident and cause someone to die. I can't wait untill I go to court to testify on this piece of shit. The kid was wearing a helmet and later died at Tampa General of head trauma:(

I came home around 4a.m(EST), took a shower and got a call from the other guys who went to the hospital and said he had just passed away. I had to be at the scene the entire time because I saw everything that happened, otherwise I would of went to the hospital.

They took my recorded statement and now I will be going to court someday soon to testify on this asshole. My point to all this is thatPLEASE DON'T DRIVE DRUNK, OR WHILE YOU'RE DRINKING. HAVE A DESIGNATED DRIVER FOR GODS SAKE

Sorry for this being so long, but I had to share this horrific experience. The sad part of this whole thing(other than his death), was that we were not even speeding or goofing off. Just trying to have a good time, that's all.

Very sorry to hear that bro, I think they should kill fuckers that kill others because of drinking. Pisses me off more than ANYTHING!!!!!!!

thats very sad bro :(

Omigawd I don't know what I'd have done to him. It would not have been pretty.....

I'm so sorrry, Sweetie.

On "malfunction junction":(

For those who don't know what that is, it's a junction that brings you from I-4hwy to 275hwy.

The reason it's called that is because everyday there is a malfunction.

Damn I also lost a friend on the malfuction junction a while back. So sorry to hear about your friend. If you need to talk give me a call.

Sorry to hear about your loss, and I 'm glad that piece of shit is gonna pay for what he did even though it won't bring back your friend.

Thanks everyone, it hurts really bad. I feel like shit today due to what happened last night. I hope no one ever goes through what I saw last night, not a good visual:(

That exchange is a nightmare and always has been. Even the recent improvements don't do much to help.

I'm so sorry about your friend, hun.

Everyone be safe this weekend.

It's terrible, people just don't seem to care about anything anymore.
I lost my sister to a drunk piece of shit in 1988. It hurts to this day.
At least the asshole is still in prison.

Good lord. Stories like this still make me sad. So sorry for your loss.....:(

The newspaper article....:( http://news.tbo.com/news/MGB0GLR1AWD.html

I'm going to make this a sticky until his funeral happens. I want people to learn that drinking and driving is nothing to mess with....

TAMPA - Travis Nathaniel Peer had many friends, and he taught several of them to ride a motorcycle.
He had three rules: Always wear a helmet, always wear gloves and always wear shoes that fit, said his mother, Ruth.

Following those safety principles early Sunday, Peer led a caravan of his friends from a night out in Ybor City toward his Largo home. Just after 1 a.m., Florida Highway Patrol troopers say, a drunken driver lost control of his car on Interstate 4 and started a chain of collisions that Peer, 23, could not avoid.

Peer died at Tampa General Hospital, one hour after his friends and other bystanders lifted the Audi he lay pinned beneath in a desperate rescue attempt.

Arturo Amaran, the 37-year- old Opa-locka man authorities say caused the crash, has been charged with driving under the influence manslaughter and vehicular homicide. He was held Sunday without bail in the Orient Road Jail.

Dozens of friends and family members visited Peer's home Sunday afternoon, trying to console his mother, who set up a small shrine of photos of her son and his accomplishments, flanked by two lit candles.

``He was so well loved,'' said Ruth Peer, picking through photos of her son. ``He is going to be missed by so many.''

Peer rode his motorcycle along the westbound I-4 ramp to southbound Interstate 275. About 10 of his friends traveled in two cars behind him.

Ahead of them was Amaran. Driving onto I-275, Amaran scraped a guardrail along an outside lane and jerked to an inside lane on the ramp, according to an patrol report.

Edgardo Rivera, 45, of Odessa, drove behind Amaran in a Honda Accord, and struck the rear bumper of Amaran's Audi. The Audi went into a spin.

Peer was on his Honda motorcycle behind Rivera and could not avoid the crash, troopers say. He struck the driver's side door of Amaran's car and was pinned underneath.

Peer's friends, narrowly missing the crash themselves, leapt out of their cars to lift up the Audi, said one friend, Ryan Mayol, of Largo. Someone brought a jack to inch the car up, which enabled Peer's friends to free him until paramedics arrived.

Amaran and Rivera suffered minor injuries, troopers reported.

Peer was raised in the Clearwater area. He attended Largo Middle School and Clearwater High before getting his GED last year. He graduated from Remington College in Largo, on track to a computer tech career, Ruth Peer said.

He was known among family and friends as a tinkerer, always fixing cars and computers, spotting the problem immediately, she said.

``He was always there to help someone out,'' his mother said, telling Peer's friends of the time when Travis, at 15, rushed to a car-accident victim near his home and used his own shirt to control the man's bleeding until help arrived.

``There will never be another Travis,'' she said.

I'm so pissed still, can't get over the fact that I saw someone die, better yet, get murdered. The fucker should of never been on the road:mad:

Everyday so far all I think about is the accident

It'll never stop hurting man.
One day you'll be able to let go of the furious anger, but the bitterness remains.
Don't let it rule your life. it damn near ruined mine.
I've got 28years and 300,000 miles on motorcycles.
EVERY single time I got on one, I realized that it could well be my last ride.
Now that I'm married with two girls, I won't have a bike for a while.
But ALWAYS wear a full face helmet, gloves, and ankle high boots. A ballistic jacket works great in the summer.
But after all is said and done, terrible things can still happen. So make sure all the people you care about KNOW that you do. Because it is not IF you'll crash, but when and how bad.
Remember the good times with your buddy, let him live on through those memories. Try not to remember him the last time you saw him, but at the beginning of that day, full of excitement about the ride.

Rado I am sorry to hear about this.

What pisses me off the most is that the drunk are always the ones who get away with little to no injuries.

I have never and will never drink and drive. Too many bad stories and it isn't hard to get a DD or a cab

Don't think so. I'm looking into it though:mad:

It was a second charge I guess, you know, one crime and xx charges I guess.

As much as these things hurt people, its good to spread the word to hopefully avoid other incidences. Its a sad reality but people need to see the truth, so thanks for sharing this info.
