Lets look at the different categories of fatty acids ...

Vegetable oils contain polyunsaturated fatty acids called Omega-6, yet fish contains a polyunsaturated fatty acid called Omega-3.

Both these different types of Omegas have different affects on the body. Omega-3s come in a variety of potencies with the two most effective ones being EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA's (docosahexanoic acid).

Where is it found?

EPA's and DHA's are found in cold-water fish such as salmon, trout, mackerel, and tuna

Why is it needed :

Omega-3s boost immunity and assist in the regulation of blood pressure and blood clotting.

i just take a combo of omega 3,6,9's.... its a fish, flax, borage mix... seems to be helping keep the nasty fat off a bit....

Off Topic Sorta ....

One day I took some fish oil caps and went to the library to study for exams in University. I got to the library and my throat felt all weird, like I had a cap stuck 1/2 way down.

To make a long story short.

I was burping Fish Oil for a good hour.

YUCK!
