Fit-bit for bros in iron..

I was looking into the fit-bit. Is this even something I should consider considering we all just weight train and low intensity cardio? I mean it is $100.... Is it something that would be useful?

I try not to jump on many hype trains, but these things seem pretty cool

oh man bro......lol. You missed the thread. It just counts the swings of your arm. My buddies wife was telling me. You can just swing your arm and it will count it as cardio. Please don't get it.

thanks for the advice

I have a charge hr fitbit and I love it. I wear it everyday all day(except for when it is charging). I use it to count my calories in and out and to keep track of my meals and water intake. It tracks my sleep and my heart rate so I know when I am restless at night and when I am in fat burn mode when I am lifting. It really is helpful. I read the post above and I tried it out and just swinging my arm didn't count as active minutes or any kind of exercise, I think it counted as some steps but that is different than active minutes and exercise. I would suggest the one with a heart rate tracker, they will tell you what your heart rate is resting and while working out as well as when you enter a fat burn zone because of elevated beats per minute.

Thanks

Hmm, well I think you explained what it does much better than my buddies wife.

My colleagues has one and I think it's a bit optimistic regarding the calories expenditure ....

I do like how it tracks all calories in and out and you can set up a food log to keep track of what you eat and when you eat to see if you are within the budget for the day, I am always under budget. I have dropped 40lbs(270-230) in the last 7 weeks by diet and training and the fitbit has helped me in getting there just by following what it says I have done, I use it as a guideline for eating and exercise.

Thanks

Sounds cool, but I don't think I'd get one. Maybe as a gift but I don't like any kind of jewelry on me.

I don't wear jewelry much either, but this is the one thing I wear everyday all day, but I wear it because it tracks everything I do as far as eating and exercise and it has worked for me.

Thanks

This is something I have heard numerous times now so I think that it must be true.

I don't know bro it counts the steps you take throughout the day and also the exercise you get as well as all active minutes, so it works kinda like how a treadmill does when it says you went so many miles and burned so many calories in so many minutes. I have mine set to track my diet as well and it tells me how many calories I should take in per day to get from the weight I am now to the weight I want to be at and I follow that real close and always stay under the budget allowed or close to but not over it and I have lost 40 lbs in 7 weeks, actually I still have until Saturday to end the 7 weeks mark and I have already met my weight goal and set another. So it really does work, all you have to do is follow what it says and you will get to where you want to be.

Thanks

I have both fitbit and jawbone up3. Like both but jawbone better mainly bc it tracks your stages of sleep. Def recommend it!

My fitbit chage hr tracks my sleep, it tells me when I was restless and how many times for how many minutes and tell me when I woke up for how long. It is actually pretty cool all the things is does.

Yes it does a lot bro.

Counts steps
Counts floors
Counts miles
Keeps track of active minutes
Counts calories burned
Monitors heart rate
Track exercise like walking and cardio
Tracks your sleep
Logs your weight goals, loss, gain, maintain
Counts your calories in and calories out
Tells you how many calories you have left for the day
Tracks your water intake

That is all from my fitbit charge hr dashboard.

I love this thing!!!!

This is a pic of what the dashboard looks like. You can put in your units of measure like lbs or kgs or miles or km.

There is a Fitbit watch now. I just saw an ad on the French television.

I read somewhere that when you move your arm while you're watching TV it counts as physical activity .... Don't know if it's true.

Does it count when I watch my monitor too? lol :wackit::wackit::wackit:

No it don't. I sat on my couch watching tv and I was moving around like crazy with all the suspense and blindsides going on during the show and I didn't rack up steps or anything like that.

Does it count when I watch my monitor too? lol :wackit::wackit::wackit:

If it did I would have 10,000 steps by noon everyday and hundreds of active minutes before lunch lol.

Thanks
