And if the above don't kill you, you will be better off for it.

well i have chronic sinusitis... it may be due to the fact i used to snort an 8 ball or two a week... but i have lined myself up for a catt scan and possible correction surgery...

i get infections like once per month...

Black i just got some organic raw apple cider vinegar a lot of friends told me to mix this with honey and water and drink like twice a day. I get a lot of sinus issues as well and i am tired of using nasonex and allegra all that crap. Its like $4.20 for 32oz on vitacost.com.

netti pots work well... pick up some New Chapter Sinus and Respiratory its a herbal supp. I used get severe nasal drip all the time and this has really helped

Applying a thin layer of super glue to the inner edge of the nostril then squeezing has done wonders for my sinus issues. It may also help you from sending any more 8's up there.

I was born with an IGA defecency...always had low immunity...I feel your pain... last doc I talked to said I just had to deal with it...

If you feel light-headed, stand up and bend over like you are going to scratch your ankle. This will put more blood to your brain.

Black, the best natural remedy for any sinus problems or chest congestion is chewing up cloves of raw garlic and even the deoderized garlic capsules work fine. I find it most effective in gastro-intestinal problems, like stomach flu...also does break up lung congestion fast. I think it works best chopped or chewed, and I slice up a couple of big cloves on a sandwich or salsa dish. For best results only used unblemished, unsprouted cloves that feel hard and solid, not spongy.

Natural healers claim raw honey poured directly through the nasal cavity will kill the sinus bacteria, and I know a woman who does this and claims it burns like hell, but really gets rid of your sinuses. You can't get anti-bacterial effects from grocery store honey, as it is pasteurized, and all the healing enzymes are destroyed. Get LOCAL, RAW honey from your health food store and take it by the tablespoon for congestion in your chest.

I always drink a cup of lukewarm tea each morning made with 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar and one overflowing teaspoon RAW honey. Again.....always use RAW and UNPASTEURIZED Apple Cider Vinegar, with the cloudy "Mother of Vinegar" included. This tea will prevent and help relieve sinus and cold infections as well.

today my teeth hurt so bad from sinus pressure i am about to throw up. I have arranged for a CT scan on my nasal cavity and hopefully it will lead up to corrective surgery. Basically, they will break my nose and add stints into my sinus cavities. I have way to many problems not to have this done.... I am very scared...

Just try sudafed and see if that helps.
You have to rotate the meds you use cause they don't work all the time.
At times some will and others wont.

Here is the scenario.

It rains, gets windy then cold and you get a headache

well I had my CT scan yesterday. Turns out my maxillary sinus cavity is permanatly swollen to half capacity. and my nasal cavity passages are nearly closed down all the way. Its pretty bad. I have been sick since the first of the year. It sucks. I have attached an image to show you as if you care lol..The red is what is swollen and filled with fluid. the green is my nasal cavity which has been shrank down and thinned due to chronic sinusitis.

I will have to have surgery in the next few weeks. Thankfully, there is new technology out to where I will not have to get the traditional Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) where the go in and break your nose and remove tissue. Which I hear is very painful and not such fun to recover from.

I will be undergoing Endoscopic Surgery on the Maxillary Sinus. Which involves. the below.

The maxillary sinus is included if it has been frequently or chronically infected or if it contains symptomatic cysts or polyps. Once the uncinate process is removed, the natural opening of the maxillary sinus is examined. The opening is enlarged by removing some of the fibrous wall that the natural opening is located in. A normal opening is about 5 millimeters in diameter. This size is usually enlarged to 1.5 or 2 centimeters. Care must be taken to ensure that the natural opening is contiguous with the surgical opening. Inadvertently creating two separate passages is thought to be a source of continued problems after this procedure.

If there is infected material in the sinus, it is usually rinsed out. Cysts and polyps are removed by using special instruments that can reach way around the corner and endoscopes that look at an angle. In some instances another opening is made at the bottom of the sinus to help provide access if it is necessary to remove cysts, polyps, or fungal material. This opening is similar to the older "windows" operation. When these windows are used to access the bottom of the sinus, they are often created in a way that encourages them to heal over after the procedure and return to their natural condition.

It is almost never necessary to make the incision under the lip anymore, except when dealing with some tumors.

The maxillary sinus is one of the sinuses that may be treatable with the new balloon sinuplasty tools. The indications for using this new instrument depend on the nature of the sinus problem and on several other complicated variables. Balloon sinuplasty has pros and cons as do any of our available techniques and instruments.

Have you even tried the Netti pot w/ the included salt?
It isn't a silver bullet , but you will never know if it is going to give you any relief until you do it.
I carry around a bottle of Ocean mist and spray a few times a day.

These treatment's will cost you very little and may help alleviate some of you symptoms.
Have you or have you not given these a try ?
Yes or No ?

Hummm !
Why not ?

Just because it is simple doesn't mean it isn't good.
You just would not believe how good salt water is on killing infections.
If you had a bad wound they would irrigate it with saltwater.
I worked at Shands UF while going to UF getting my pre-med outta the way and used saline solution on nasal surgeries everytime.

Efficacy of daily hypertonic saline nasal irrigation among patients with sinusitis: a randomized controlled trial.
Rabago D, Zgierska A, Mundt M, Barrett B, Bobula J, Maberry R.

Department of Family Medicine, University of Wisconsin, Madison, 53715, USA. drabago@fammed.wisc.edu

OBJECTIVES: To test whether daily hypertonic saline nasal irrigation improves sinus symptoms and quality of life and decreases medication use in adult subjects with a history of sinusitis. STUDY DESIGN: Randomized controlled trial. Experimental subjects used nasal irrigation daily for 6 months. POPULATION: Seventy-six subjects from primary care (n=70) and otolaryngology (n=6) clinics with histories of frequent sinusitis were randomized to experimental (n=52) and control (n=24) groups. OUTCOMES MEASURED: Primary outcome measures included the Medical Outcomes Survey Short Form (SF-12), the Rhinosinusitis Disability Index (RSDI), and a Single-Item Sinus-Symptom Severity Assessment (SIA); all 3 were completed at baseline, 1.5, 3, and 6 months. Secondary outcomes included daily assessment of compliance and biweekly assessment of symptoms and medication use. At 6 months, subjects reported on side effects, satisfaction with nasal irrigation, and the percentage of change in their sinus-related quality of life. RESULTS: No significant baseline differences existed between the 2 groups. Sixty-nine subjects (90.8%) completed the study. Compliance averaged 87%. Experimental group RSDI scores improved from 58.4 -/+ 2.0 to 72.8 -/+ 2.2 (P < or =.05) compared with those of the control group (from 59.6 -/+ 3.0 to 60.4 -/+ 1.1); experimental group SIA scores improved from 3.9 -/+ 0.1 to 2.4 -/+ 0.1 (P < or =.05) compared with those of the control group (from 4.08 -/+ 0.15 to 4.07 -/+ 0.27). The number needed to treat to achieve 10% improvement on RSDI at 6 months was 2.0. Experimental subjects reported fewer 2-week periods with sinus-related symptoms (P <.05), used less antibiotics (P <.05), and used less nasal spray (P =.06). On the exit questionnaire 93% of experimental subjects reported overall improvement of sinus-related quality of life, and none reported worsening (P <.001); on average, experimental subjects reported 57 -/+ 4.5% improvement. Side effects were minor and infrequent. Satisfaction was high. We found no statistically significant improvement on the SF-12. CONCLUSIONS: Daily hypertonic saline nasal irrigation improves sinus-related quality of life, decreases symptoms, and decreases medication use in patients with frequent sinusitis. Primary care physicians can feel comfortable recommending this therapy.

i understand bro... but that will not stop them from reoccurring... i want to fix the problem not band-aid it... besides i have great insurance and i pay them thousands of free dollars... why not use it... thanks 4 the info sun man...
