check this shit out...worst pec tear i've ever seen and homeboy was pushing only 405..Ive been preaching for years it's not how much you lift but how you lift it.

i could not agree more not how much u lift but how u lift it. I trained with an ifbb pro in my gym dude goes moderate weight but everything is form and lots of sets.

holy fuck!!! and only 405!!! what a bitch.. ive begun lowering my weight. ive seen much better results with better concentration than with huge weight. like with shrugs. instead of doing retarded sets with 405 or 495 i see better results with just using the 45 lb. plates with handles

Who said he had bad form?, did anyone see the lift?. If he is a powerlifter and that's his thing who cares if he wants to move weight or be a bodybuilder.

Only 405??..My buddy benches 600 raw and tore his pec with just 225. Another friend that squats 900+ tore his quad with 315 on the bar. The weight doesn't really matter, can tear with 135. Most of the guys I know that have torn shit have torn it with light weight.

You can tear shit with the best form possible, all depends how much your body wants to put up with and how well you know your body. If you think you might have a micro tear lay off, if you feel a pop or a twinge lay off until you know its healed. Problem is most guys that tear shit tear it because they are already injured and knew it but continue to push the limit.

which side is torn i cant tell since hes a walking bruise.... and why the hell isnt he at the hospital getting the shit fixed... ew!

good point sometimes its just one of those things ya know? i tore my quad on a heavy squat... that i had been doing for over a month. i got through a set and was half way through my last and BAM.. it doesnt really matter sometimes.. when its your muscles time to go it just goes no matter whats on the bar

he explains the whole thing in the link I put up, he was training for a powerlifting meet.

Raw Lifter made a good point. Most injuries i have known people to have were pre existing issues that were not left alone or treated. A good ART guy can really help you out when things get beat up. So can rest, that most who lift weights have a hard time with.

the damage was done prior that..it wasnt the 405 that did it. Years of 1 rep max and going for non sense PRs and ego training probably was the cause.

So are you saying that powerlifting as a sport should not exist because doing one rep maxes is dangerous? I am not sure what your point is.

I think the one rep max is good as a gage, but I only did that no sooner than three to five weeks apart. I always felt it allowed me to be rightly trained to prevent injury and allowed enough time for the damaged muscle tissue to properly heal.
