So I was laying on my couch with my girlfriend last Friday and I moved and felt my should felt like something was pulling. It was sore all last week so I lifted light. I lifted heavy yesterday and now it hurts pretty bad, I';m pretty sure it's a tear. Is there anyway to speed up recovery or do I just have to wait it out?
 
Give it time and rest...if it doesn't get better or gets worse, go to an ortho doc.
 
Do you think it would be alright to do things that do not hurt it like lifting arms and legs?

Legs, abs would be fine....most upper body exercises involve the shoulders so give them a rest.
