The average intake of saturated fat has remained the same in the USA since 1900. Heart disease has been on the rise.

The Masai tribe in Africa average 300 grams a day of fat from animal meat. Most males have cholesterol levels under 160.

The Tokelauns, pacific islanders, averaged 50 percent of their dailey calories from fat. Most of it saturated. Researchers noted NO cardiovascular disease. Average cholesterol level was 240. (they would be put on a statin in America)

From 1960 to 1975 Japan saw a dramatic decrease in the incidence of stroke. During this time period there was a large increase in animal fat consumption. Cholesterol levels increased and blood pressure decreased.

The Farmington study showed NO relationship between cholesterol levels and cardio vascular disease for people over the age of 55. (BTW, over 90% of heart disease deaths occure after the age of 55.)
