what are you using in the gym?

Straps, and anyone who says dont use straps on deadlifts is ignoring the fact that deads are not a forearm exercise, they are a back exercise.

I use straps.............I never cared for gloves.

used gloves before, gave me a little more grip and saved my hands a bit. but give me straps anyday!

Sometimes i hate having big calouses, like if i go for an interview for a job or am shaking a broads hand, but most of the time i dont mind.

Do you guys use straps for chinups? I have a hard time getting it around the bars.

Straps......I only wish I discovered them earlier
and for the calouses........I only hate them for ONE reason.......but lotion takes care of that

don't do chinups at the moment. i find straps hard to get around whatever my right hand is lifting (i'm left handed)

Strapps just like everyone else. Ever heard of hook strapps? I got some through bodybuilding.com about four months ago and wont lift without 'em.

I just bought a pair of these but haven't received them yet. Do they provide a good grip?

Got mine from bodybuilding.com for 13.98 a pair. Here's the link, http://bodybuilding.com/store/hook.html
Their site was down this morning so if that link dowsn't work just do a search. They are called The Hooker Straps and are made by RD Millenium.

To those who use them, will they work with an over/under grip?

Both.

My hands will bleed without gloves and my grip is not nearly strong enough to go without straps.

 Thats awful. Well atleast you wont get nasty calousus(sp)

Hooker straps are good, if you have big hands. If you only have small hands like myself, they're a complete waste of time. I recently discovered straps and they're amazing. At first they hurt my wrists like hell, but they've worn in now.
