Who is working towards retiring??

How many of you actually have a saving account with at least 5 digits in the dollar part?

How many of you have a retirement plan set i.e 401K, pension, etc.....??

How many if you have life insurance other then the burial shit you get from your job?

I do and I'm proud of it.....

When I retire I will have more in my 401K then most of you will have made in your lifetimes. Plus I will get two union pensions. On top of the money the wife and I invest into our IRAs and individual stocks.

Have I sacrificed to acheive some sort of financial security now hell yes I have. I haven't been on vacation in a long time now. I wear work clothes till they catch fire.

I have a life insurance policy to make sure my wife and kids will continue an lifestyle that isn't poverty stricken.

there's no guarantee i'll live into retirement...i'm not gonna short change my lifestyle now and take that chance later...i'll work til i die and still have cash to play with...

My Dad worked hard to retire well. He made $50,000 a year in retirement. The only problem is he retired when he found out he hasd stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He literally retired to die.
That said, the wife and I are definately working towrds retirement right now, as it is only a few years away for both of us. I have a roth, also a traditional ira and then a 401k through work. My goal is to have enough to pay everything off at retireemnt, then we can live well on our retirements.

I have all the above and some other things. I really don't get too wrapped up in that kind of shit anymore. I just kind of be half way responsible and only God knows what will happen then.
