Looking for some new ideas for brute strength training. Grip strength has always been important to me (farmers walks, forearm exercises, static holds, etc...) looking for some good grappling strength training ideas (ie, throwing around a 100 lb human dumby, weight sleds) Started fighting at a local Lions Den club in NY and really just want to get a little more rugged with my holds and shit.. any good sites out there or videos?

try this
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RUNNING THE RACK
this is a grip excercise that sounds pretty easy but if you have a full set of dumbells can hit your grip and forearms pretty hard .
start in front of the db rack faceing the smaller weights at either the 5s or 10s , simply pick up the dbs and hold them for 15 seconds [ dont cheat lol ] the rack them and immediately slide over and pick up the next heaviest pair of dumbells and repeat the process . do this all the way down the dumbell rack as far as you can . it doesnt sound hard but most people will be shot long before they get to the dbs well over 100 #s if they truly hold the weight for at least 15 seconds . if you are more advanced or your gym doesnt have very heavy dumbells simply stretch the time out to 20 or more seconds .

roll with guys who are bigger than you.

use a six foot heavy bag as a throw dummy.

Back Back and more back.

Good info guys. thanks. Damn DAWG! I've tried similar things like plate pinches and shit but my gym goes from 2 1/2's to 210's!!! That could be an all day experience. I'm gonna try that though, sounds killer.

I just started using my old punhing bag for throws and shit now since it's pretty beat up and is hard to pick up since the sand is all over the place, makes for very awkward holds. Just started hitting back hard about a month ago and I love it. I had a hernia so i took a few years off but hopefully it pays big.
