Since Ozzy keeps going on about his latest non incident I thought I'd fill you gents in on the resolution of my last gym confrontation.
Around two weeks or so after the incident I was in the gym doing bench training. I stayed at 455 but was repping 8-6 reps per set. Obviously earlier sets 8 then as I tired it got down to 6 reps per set.
I saw the same kid watching me, and when I say kid mid twenties, but remember I'm 60 now, so I mean no disrespect. But I saw the young man walking over to me. I'm thinking "here we go again
I'm not in the mood for this today of all days."
He comes up and says "I've been watching you" I'm thinking duh!, and he says dude you are freaking crazy strong."
He's got my attention now. So I thanked him and told him I was sorry about getting pissed off with him giving me pointers on doing squats. But that in my defense, if he had been paying attention my last two reps of every set were butt to the floor reps, but with injuries and age I just couldn't do every rep that way without getting knee or hip wear and tear.
He tells me his grandfather still trains, but very light, and says the same thing. So now I'm his grandfather, but I knew he didn't mean anything by it so I took it as a compliment, or a statement of fact that I'm old.
Any way we're best buds now. And he's allowed to offer critique. He wants to train me and to get me down in weight to compete in a bodybuilding comp. He says at my age and with my level of development I could blow away any statewide competition easily.
I tried to say body builder but choked on the words.
So me and the kid are buds now. I'm trying to get him to hook me up with this older woman that works there who is single and loves hard bodies. Mines hard in all the right places, so we'll see, but that's another story for another day.
