Started a new job today in a very busy sheet metal shop with lots of contracts. Leave at 4 AM and ride my motorcycle 25 miles through country road pre-dawn. Pristine. They started me on a 30 ton break. I shaped 245 metal fuse box panels. Great group of people in the shop; friendly with a lot of experience.. Many motorcycle riders. On my feet all day and had to focus, no time for idle chatter. Ten hour days. Had 3 hacking fits barely able to breath. The guy working a break next to me is a retired Captain from the Fire Department. He said, "Man I can hear you have fluid in your lungs, noxious gas does that!" Finally someone who gets it. He suggested I get a carbon monoxide tester and when the green light comes on to call the local fire department to test the air. Good idea, but I'll be out of that shit-hole soon. This job is unlike any I've had in 45 years and I love it. New job, new place, new life and my muscles are aching to boot. I'll be back in no time. The best part is nobody can talk to me while I work. I'm just another machine. Heavenly Bliss... and sleep...

More pictures of facades. Nope.

Nope.

Not real.

Nope.

Problem still exists even worse.

This is an inside job.

All I know is: the wheels of progress are turning again, I'm making money, and like what I do. It's a higher technical position requiring me to think, not lambasting from a soapbox wearing a monkey suit with a halo of self-importance which never truly existed. That "picture" was a mirage. Today wasn't a picture, it was 260 power boxes made of steel, and 170 9' x 15" aluminum channels to be shaped for fire trucks. Tomorrow I'll cut 942 notch-outs and make some more boxes, getting a little more stronger each day.

Sounds like a decent company that's making things in America.....I'll start taking the bets now.

I think he'll do fine if he doesnt v talk too much. My oldest is a functional alcoholic. He works. Has his own business. Customers like him. It's only the people who know him best can't stand being around him because he starts running his mouth.
My 2$, if he keeps his head down and his mouth shut for the most part, mrhtbd is going to be great. Better than ever. Hard work. Coming home dirty. Work iut, shower, cook, eat, clean up, sleep. Then on Friday and Saturday night he can be the local poet laureate.

I finished the notch-outs, with no mistakes, 45 minutes shy of the owner's bid for the job. (He is currently on vacation but will hear about it!) The manager said, "You've been here three days and your production levels are consistently below bid, Earle's going to like that when he get's back from vacation. Then he said, "You're making us look good!" I liked hearing it because I thought my sore feet and lumbar were slowing me down, but with compliments like that, I'll work twice as hard next week!

You're making the bosses happy but pissing your coworkers off. Are they union? If so, expect some flat tires soon haha.

No union, but the cool thing is, we all do different jobs that aren't equated in time estimate. I replaced a guy who broke his ankle on his steps at home, strange, huh? I met our 70 year old over-road tractor trailer driver for the first time on Friday. He asked me, "So, how's a Teacher like sheet metal work?" I told him, "I love this job," and that, "as a Teacher I felt like a hamster running on a wheel going nowhere!" Then I asked him, "How did you know I was a Teacher?" He said, "Earle called me!" Evidently the owner, Earle, who is out West on a skiing vacation, called him to discuss my place in the organization. "Really," I said. "Yeah," he replied, "I think he wants you to manage the new warehouse they just acquired this month!" "Wow," I thought. How I met the owner was in October 2016, when my friend in the old BMW Riding Group was helping me replace the tires on my BMW, he said, "Just buy the two tires and we can go to my buddy's shop to put them on, he has a wheel shop for the riders in his warehouse." Turns out his "buddy" is also in the BMW Rider's Group, and he is the owner of this sheet metal shop who now has three adjourning warehouses in an Industrial Park. They just got the third one because of a big FEMA contract they got. Very cool! After we changed the tires I was introduced to him and said, "Hey, I like your shop, lots of production, if you ever need any help let me know." So he gave me his card. I finally called up and just after the guy broke his ankle and the new warehouse was rented. Timing. Now I want to take Bufbiker's advice and keep my mouth shut and let my work speak for me. Like the classic line in Casablanca, "This could be the start of a beautiful friendship!"

"Heaven"

I've got a picture of your house
And you're standing by the door.
It's black and white and faded,
And it's looking pretty worn.
See the factory that I worked
Silhouetted in the back.
The memories are gray but man they're really coming back.

I don't need to be the king of the world
As long as i'm the hero of this little girl

Heaven isn't too far away
Closer to it everyday
No matter what your friends might say

How I love the way you move
And the sparkle in your eyes
There's a color deep inside them
Like blue suburban skys
When i come home late at night
And you're in bed asleep
I wrap my arms around you
So I can feel you breathe

I dont need to be a superman
As long as you will always be my biggest fan

Heaven isn't too far away
Closer to it everyday (Ah, ah)
No matter what your friends might say
We'll find our way, yeah

Now the lights are going out,
Along the boulevard
Memories come rushing back and makes it pretty hard
I've got nowhere left to go
And no one really cares
I don't know what to do
But I'm never giving up on you.

Heaven isn't too far away
Closer to it every day
ohhhh ohhh
No matter what your friends say
I know we're gonna find a way

(Heaven)

Whoah, oohh, ohhh
Whoah, oohh, ohhh

(Heaven)

It's not too far away

Whoah, oohh, ohhh

Yeah yeah yeah

Fkn Warrant, lmao.

I almost got arrested for punching the singer in the face. I was dating a girl that apparently fkd him prior to us dating. I took her to a local bar/live music venue where he was doing some solo stuff. Next thing I know I sense this weird connection and she goes on to tell me about her "past."

Long story short, he approached her invited her (alone) on the bus, we exchanged words, I smashed him in the face, security tackled me, and the cops came. Charges were dropped.

That's my minor claim to fame, lol

Out of respect for the male, I have never taken advantage of another man's woman!
