Started a new job today in a very busy sheet metal shop with lots of contracts. Leave at 4 AM and ride my motorcycle 25 miles through country road pre-dawn. Pristine. They started me on a 30 ton break. I shaped 245 metal fuse box panels. Great group of people in the shop; friendly with a lot of experience.. Many motorcycle riders. On my feet all day and had to focus, no time for idle chatter. Ten hour days. Had 3 hacking fits barely able to breath. The guy working a break next to me is a retired Captain from the Fire Department. He said, "Man I can hear you have fluid in your lungs, noxious gas does that!" Finally someone who gets it. He suggested I get a carbon monoxide tester and when the green light comes on to call the local fire department to test the air. Good idea, but I'll be out of that shit-hole soon. This job is unlike any I've had in 45 years and I love it. New job, new place, new life and my muscles are aching to boot. I'll be back in no time. The best part is nobody can talk to me while I work. I'm just another machine. Heavenly Bliss... and sleep...
