WOOOOHHHHOOOOOO!!!!!

Well, Joseph was given a date they expect to fly out of Iraq a month or so ago but he messaged me a little while ago and it's set. They are leaving either on the 23rd or the 24th and should land in New York on the 26th or the 27th. That's 3 weeks; 21 days....I'm ECSTATIC.

He also found out that he'll have 6 whole days for Thanksgiving so we'll have his first weekend back home and only a few weekend visits before being able to spend an entire week together here for Thanksgiving with my NH family.

I know it doesn't really mean much to you guys but I can't really express how excited I am to have him back home. And I know his mother will probably sleep much more peacefully once he's home since his brother is finally out of there as well. I can't imagine how hard it's been on her, I can't even comprehend. I just know that I'm beyond ready to have him back on US soil and "safe".

Anyway, since many of you are like family to me, I just thought I'd share. :)

Please continue to keep them all in your thoughts and/or prayers. Oliver is supposed to be headed over there before too long and I believe Jeremy was also scheduled to deploy this fall as well. It's far from over but, atleast for the next year, Joseph will be home safe. And, I doubt I'll be around much on weekends, lol. (Not like any of you are greatly crushed by that, lol) Thanks for letting me share, I'm excited.

OMG!!! Congrats hun. That's freaking fantastic news. We're all counting down with you. soon you'll be :smooch: :dancing: :smooch: :D

That is fantastic news Em. As Nic said, we will be counting down the days with you. I know you'll have little time to check in here when Joseph is home. It will be a fabulous time for you both. I'm excited for you!!!!!! :dancing:

Well, WENCH, I was counting the 7th, even though the day is close to over, that would make it 20 or 21 days. :p

And, I'll pass the message along to FME (that's so freakin funny)...

Thanks everyone, I'm so excited and I know he's ready to be back home where he can have all the ice cream he can eat. LOL...The next three weeks are going to draaaaaaag though....

(By the way, thanks to those of you that have been there on my rough days. I really would have lost my mind if I didn't have you jerks to give me a hard time and make me laugh. :p )

Congrats Emily, I'm super excited for you. :dancing:

There's nothing like having someone come home for the holidays after they've been M.I.A for so long. I hope you guys have an awesome time when he arrives home.

Congrats again sweetie, always live for the moment. :) :dancing:

Hun that's so awesome, I can't even imagine how excited you must be!!! :)

absolutely awesome...been in the army myself in the first gulf war......

After you hug and kiss him over and over and over and cry...and have that personal time that very few people understand..tell him God Bless him...tell him he is a hero in our book..and eventually, when you have the time..tell him We thank him with all of our hearts for our safety, security, freedom..

We are the Land of the Free Because of the Brave...

Aw Em that's fantastic news. I can only imagine how much of a relief it will be to have him back in the states.

that info should be done by a PM...understand thats important info....

That is awesome news! So happy to hear! Very happy for you girl!:dancing:

That's wonderful news Emily... i'm so happy for you... i know you are counting the days, hours and minutes until he comes home. :)

Glad to hear the great news Emily. Will keep him in my prayers until he is home safe and sound!

Thanks everyone!!!

Karch, I did get your PM. I was in the middle of replying when he called this afternoon. My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. :)

He says they are bringing the battalion back home in multiple flights and the welcome home ceremony will be after everyone has arrived. I will be making the drive to New York for his arrival but I doubt I will be able to stay through the WH ceremony. Just depends on how far apart the WH is from when he arrives. Once he lands in NY, he will have 48 hours off before having to report back to base for work. I will likely spend the 26, 27, and 28th there before coming back home.

At this point, I'm just glad we've got a more accurate date for when the battalion will land back on home soil.

Anyway, thanks to all of you. I appreciate all the messages I've received over the last couple of days and the support many of you have given us both over the last few months. My love to each and every one of you. :)

Hey GF! I just caught up reading all the threads so sorry for jumping on the bandwagon of congratulations at the 11th hour.

That is wonderful news! Now the anticipation of not knowing when he comes home can make place for the excitement and nervousness of knowing! LOL Have fun preparing, freaking out, shopping for lingerie and other misc. stuff us girls do when something like that is about to happen!

p.s.: Mine just hit the 1/3 way through mark. 4 more months to go!
