My right hip flexor gives me problems when I do squats. It makes it impossible to do them at times. I am working on stretching it out to get it loosened up. I also started using the electronic muscle stimulator before bed to see if that helps. Does anyone have any tips on better stretches that have worked for them? Or other thoughts?

You have to spend time on the vagina machine.

I try to avoid that like the plague but I can add it in and see if it helps. I didn't think about trying that. Thanks.

I also notice it cramp up at times when I am on my motorcycle. Makes it fun flying down the highway with my leg hanging trying to get it to let go/loosen up.

lmao, I don't know any stretches or anything, I use electric stim for nerve damage in my hand i didnt know it helped with, cramps and such

I'm not sure if it will help but I figured it couldn't hurt. I was thinking along the same principle as how individuals use it for lower back pain on long car trips. Just something to help promote blood flow and movement to help stimulate the flexor. Thoughts? Sounded logical to me but I'm open to other ideas.

The big PLers at my gym are starting to use this machine last on leg day. At first I laughed at the big hairy fuckers. Then I started trainign with them on Friday mornings and I do this too. It helps with alot of things.

Groin pain at all? Have you ever had a scan done on the hip on that side? Hip flexors are part of the PSOAS muscle which is deeper and hard to get to for massage. You may have some trigger points in there that need to be worked on. Here are some stretches for that:

No groin pain. Just the front of my hip more towards the outside. Presses are fine as well as other exercises. Just squats get it for some reason. It's not so much a cramp just like it's really tight and needs some serious stretching. It hurts right as I hit the top at the end of my rep. Thanks for the input!

Also there is no lower back pain. I think I'm just lacking in the flexibility dept

Would still think that you should do some good psoas stretches, after all, the psoas muscle is what forms the "hip flexors". I did not have back pain either when I had hip flexor issues but it turned out I had hip issues though. Now I do have the back probelms too.

I definitely will. I did a few this morning while watching scooby doo with the kids. I'll keep at them and maybe skip squats this week and see how it feels.

When you say stretching your hips what are you doing? Is your work sedentary aka sitting?

Yes I have a sales job so I'm either at my desk or sitting in my truck. Does make it nice that I can get to the gym anytime I want to go.

Tight hip flexors respond will to

Pigeon Pose
Frog Pose
Hip Flexor Stretch

Google these. I do these every day as I also now have a sedentary job. Works wonders.
