I seem to always get pain in my hip/groin region on leg days (only on the right side). I always stretch thoroughly before my routine---stretching quads, hams, hip flexors and groin. I almost always begin my routine with squats. (I use a slightly wider than shoulder-width stance with toes pointing slightly outward.)
I can feel my hip areas tightening as I progress up in weight with the squats though it does not prevent me from lifting. When I go to leg press, it feels like my groin is about to pop as I proceed with the exercise.
I?ve tried keeping the area stretched throughout squats and leg press as well as going lighter, giving it more rest, etc. But this always seems to happen after squats? am I using too wide of a stance? I've tried starting with a different exercise and it seems to minimze the discomfort to a small degree. The pain does not persist past the work-out, and I have not had any hip injuries or broken bones. Anyone else have bum hips?
Any remedy advice is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
