How oftern do ye guys change your routine?
i.e. muscle groups trained together, rep range, even down to rest between sets. i know your body adjusts to the routine and should be varied.
my routine at the moment is:
Day 1: Chest,biceps,abs
Day 2: Back, triceps, forearms
Day 3: Shoulders, traps, abs
Day 4: Legs, abs

week 1: 6-8reps
week 2: 8-10reps
week 3: 1-15,12reps
week 4 same as week1 and so on...
when training heavy rest between sets 2mins week 2 rest 1min 30secs, week 3 1min rest

i plan of changing it around a but any advice?
thinking!
chest/triceps.
back/biceps.
prob stick the same with day 3 and day 4, any tips would be great!
Thanks...

Ps.
how often do ye rest? i train 6days a week take sat totally off between gym and MMA i.e. BJJ,mauy thia, boxing
weights during the day MMA at night.
weights wise i jsut keep going...but if i feel tired yes i take the day off.

Maybe change a few things every six mts if I feel a little stale,
as long as I progress, I don't see a need to make big changes.

making good progress at the moment to be honest, as they say "if it aint broke dont fix it"

I stick with the same evercises, I just switch up the order I do them. I don't do the same workout 2 weeks in a row for any body part.

I like how ye type... hehe

i change mine every week... its been workin for me...

exactly! its all about progression. as long as you are adding weight or reps to ur lifts no need to change anything.

free weights all day, up down, progressive overload is all there is to know, I dont care if all you got to do is push ups. progressive overload is ALL there is to it big guy. you can do free weights?? then work that progressive overload and you'll be doin better than 80% of these half asses, worrying about reps, routines, rests and diet. DONT MISS OUT on the very basics of getting big and you'll do great man.

Changing just for the sake of changing is pointless. As stated previously, if it aint broke, dont fix it. If your poundages are increasing, that IS a change in of itself..and thats the main key...progressive overload. Getting big is all about busting ass on the basic movements, staying away form the pussy ass cables and fancy machines, eating right, resting...and having decent genetics. ;)
