it was a march of dimes charity ride . all day round trip from the local harley dealer . we got to do 1 lap on the track but it was behind a pace cycle so speed was limited but rideing the bank was cool . we also got to ride up through the stands lol . the have wide ramps and walkways for service vehicles , the view was great . they also took our pic in victory lane on our bikes , they are supposed to mail them to us .it was worth the 30 dollar donation but it was HOT HOT HOT , people passed out from the heat

I roadrace motorcycles, I rode 'Baby Taledega' a couple of years ago, that's a nice facility. They do virtually the same gig at all the tracks when we have nationals to race at, fund raiser rides. If you want to have a very cool ride for your money do Road America, Elkhart Lake Wisconsin, you can lay back from the pace bike and wind it up on some of the long straits. When we race there on our 600's we reach top speed (165-170mph) in 3 'straits' at that track, FUN FUN FUN!!!

At Road A? If they laid back they could proly get up to top speed on the hogs, do they really want to?? Generally the cruisers are out of hand after 100 anyway. Obviously as tech gets better and geometry starts to finally get into american motorcyle engineers heads the handling has gotten allot better, as far as being as good as the cafe bikes, far from compareable. Most of the times we have track days in the summer at Road America I see a crap load of guys out there on 1300 Hayabusa's and R1 who can't keep the pace at all, the state of mind at that speed is different than just winding your bike up for a hundred feet then letting off. When you able to hold a bike wide open all the way everywhere it gets overwhelming. Think if you could drive to work everyday as fast as you can to every stop sign, brake as deep as you can in every corner and try to set yourself up for incredible exit speed out of every corner. If you seriously think about it, very very few can do this.
We teach 14 racing schools a year and all the guys who claim to be 'fast street riders' usually are very scary to ride near at speed and have no idea where to be on a road course. Check out our website http://www.visionsportsridingschools.com/

im not a crotch rocket rider , im too damn big lol . but for a cruiser i can represent pretty well at high speed and in the curves . ive rode the tail of the dragon/deals gap fast enought to scrape away my warning/sliders on the bottom of my floorboards and did so under control , even passed a crotch rocket in a curve who couldnt ride for shit , he got the wobbles from to much speed followed by to much deceleration coming out of 1 curve and into the next he had to stay high and i dove low . just to be a asshole i had my feet on my highway pegs when i passed him lol , besides the floorboards kept folding up on my feet when they scraped in the curves so i kept them on the pegs most of the time .my 07 electraglide with the 96ci engine and 6 speed registers 120 and ive buried it in a straightaway with another gear left but i ran out of room and for the record it rides smooth as heel at that speed , the air ride suspension combined with a nearly 900 pound bike help the ride but it takes a LONG run to get full speed .

Deals Gap is a blast, we can consistaly put a knee down when we had riden there in the past, that road kicks ass!!

that whole are kicks ass . cherokee , pigeon forge , gatlinburg, deals gap , and all the skyways/parkways/scenic highways . not to mention the national forest . its a beautifull place .
ps rumor has it theres a road in north georgia near the tn line thats nearly as sweet as the dragon . im trying to find out exactly where its at .

I can find out exactly where your road is my best friend lives in Atlanta and is a road racer/super motard racer, I KNOW he can get the location for you. I will get back to you soon!

The idea of Buttonwillow always scared me, that is a fast track! I'd love to try Thunderhill on a bike, been there a number of times on 4 wheels, SIR/Infineon once and thats fine other than the off-camber back straight.

THey scare me too on the streets, that's why I take it to the track. I really want to get a Harley V-Rod for me and the wife to ride on the streets. Maybe when I am rich, I can have a track bike and a Harley, til then I will stick to the track.

i graduated with the girl who sold me my electraglide . she just got sponsered to ride a new vrod destroyer in the eliminator class , her 1st time down the track on it was qualifying at bowling green Ky [ big race ] she ran a 9.74 her 1st pass , ended up qualifying 6th and placeing 5th . she also made the final 16 out of 93 bikes in the bracket class on her sportster .
that girl can ride the spark plugs off a scooter .
